Red Storm Rising 1.0 is finally out. It is a huge upgrade from version 0.9x. Most notably and to the delight of most CC5 players, theres 44 brand new maps to play on!
Red Storm Rising is fully fictitious scenario taking place in World War III (partially based
on Tom Clansey's books). It describes a possible war between NATO and the Warsaw pact
in 1989 after Gorbachev was retired by group of Communist fanatics. You can be the commander of WP invasion
forces or NATO defensive efforts. The nukes have not used yet and you should
finish the war as soon as it is possible - before beginning of nuclear war.
This new CC5 mod is called "Contre-attaque sur l'Aisne" and is based on the Aisne battle in France of June 1940. It is unofficially a sequel to the popular Meuse mod.
The mod is 98% ready and my son has been playing it for 2 months without any bugs or problems. However I am still improving the data/base files and some map graphics. I have tried to especially concentrate on the game play, graphics and sounds.

The mod includes the German tentative of counterattack named Operation Winterstorm which begins December 14th and ends on December 24th due to the situation of the 6th Army being hopeless.
Der Kessel is, I believe, the first mod where the front is not linear: during 80% of the campaign, you will have the German 6th Army encircled by the Soviets. The Winterstorm Operation will as well be exiting, with the first Tigers on the 6th Panzer Division trying to push until the Kessel...

Per the request Mark for his Bloody Omaha Autorun CD Release I've looked and made a number of changes/fixes to Bloody Omaha v1.01. The 41 changes/fixes, listed below, on top of the v1.01 release make up Bloody Omaha v1.2. Make sure you download IsignyBo & StPierBo maps and have them and all the original maps in the maps directory before installing Bloody Omaha v1.2 as some updated .btd, .txt and .los files will be installed by the plugin.
Note: Version 1.2 is an official release. Please use only v1.2 for online play as mixing different version will have an adverse effect on gameplay.

in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
