btw i think close combat games are really cool

No you cant choose your own troops in CCIV,you have to play with what the game gives you.The force pool does replace units lost after battle depending on conditions.

I agree, you cant load up your BG with AT guns or tanks, so it's more realistic. However it makes it more repetitive as well, having the same set troops over and over. The usual problem of balance of realism with game play.
