Unit Guide - German Heavy AT Car

gerHeavyATcar

Battlegroup Name: AT Car
Turret Class: Closed Top
Turret Type: Rotating
Crew: 4
Speed: 42 mph (70 km/h)
Weight: 12,122 lb. (5,510 kg)
Engine: Daimier-Benz M09
Schürzen: No

The development of these vehicles actually started with the chassis of a 6 x 4 truck. These designs had the advantage of higher speeds than their tracked brethren. And by spreading its weight across six wheels it could cross areas that traditional heavy trucks could not. After several modifications the result was the six-wheeled armored car.
While classified as an anti-tank platform, the 2cm main gun will do little damage to tanks. This six-wheeler is best used as an anti-infantry weapon. But it's amazing what you'll try in a pinch. A benefit to having a smaller caliber main gun is it has an increased rate of fire.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
