As if the Tiger I was not enough of a threat, in 1942 Hitler made demands that the 'old' Tiger be upgraded. The first upgrade changed out the standard gun for a long barreled 8.8cm L/71. This gun could penetrate 80 centimeters of armor at a range of almost 2 ½ miles. The second change was an increase in armor by forty percent. Not limited by a fixed turret as the JagdTiger was, the King Tiger could still engage targets if it should become immobilized.
This is the one license you have to roll across the battlefield with impunity. The only armored unit that could be considered a threat is the M7 Priest. And if you let the Americans sneak that tugboat around to your rear, well…

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
