Also, when I went to re-install the game it defaults to Program Files - don't think I can change it.

The only thing I don't understand is that the version of CC# I have is CC3:  Cross of Iron, that I purchased from Matrix Games?  Is the DOF Mod not correct for that version?

I tried this using the PacMod directions but no matter what I do when I run the Config51 I get the error message "The location of Close Combat III could not be found."

Sorry I'm not doing better at this.  Embarassed

Thanks for the help - I don't know what COI is???  I'm new to the Mods part of the game.

I assume Config Manager is a Mod?  Where do I download it?

Again, appreciate the help and patience!

Thanks!  There were two files to download - one .zip file that I unzipped into the Maps folder.  The second file was a _plugin.zip that self extracted into the plugins folder.  I didn't have any error messages. but when I went into my plugins folder the file wasn't there.

I just downloaded both of the files for this Mod, but when I open the game I can't find the campaign in the list of choices.

Can any one assist?

Thanks and regards,

Yuma,

You're the man!  I'm embarassed to say that I didn't know that JVM was here on this site.  Once I downloaded that version, BGEdit works fine.

Once again, many thanks.

PostForum: Tech Support   Posted: Fri Dec 03, 2010 6:47 pm   Subject: Using BGEdit with a new PC
Folks,

I could really use some help here.  I am trying to use BGEdit to modify the composition of battle groups in CC5, but cannot get it to function on my new machine running Vista.  I had no problems on my previous PC running XP.

I now have an ASUS CG5290, operating Windows VISTA Home Premium with a 64-bit operating system.

I’ve think – stress on the think – that I’ve downloaded the correct versions of Java Virtual Machine and Microsoft .NET Framework Redistributable, but I am not sure.  None of the links in the “Read Me” that downloaded with BGEdit worked anymore, and I had to hunt around for what I think are the correct versions of these for a 64-bit OS.

When I open up BGEdit and attempt to open a Force Pools .adb file, I get a “failed to open files” error message.

At any rate, I hope you all can help.  I really like using BGEdit and can’t thank you enough for the mods and other additions you have created that have really enriched the CC experience.

Regards,

Edge Gibbons

PzJager,

Your Mods are top-of-the-line! I have downloaded every one of them, and cannot wait for more!

Your Mods are the only reason I am playing CC at all today. Keep up the great work!

Mille remerciments, mon ami.

Squad Leader,

I went to the MS site to download MSJVM, and it states that as of 31 Dec 2007 it is no longer available.

Any other place I might be able to download it?

Thanks

Thanks. I'll download that, but I think that what I am after is more like adding vehicle types and numbers of vehicles available. So, I think that means the actual FPools.adb files. I am not interested in changing vehicle characteristics or performance, or the composition, for example, of a particular vehicle or squad, just want to add or subtract unit types to the force pools for the individual BGs.

I did this for CC4 using QClone back in what seems like the dawn of time, but have no idea what this would be like for a Mod in CC5.

Hi folks,

I am new here, but a long-time CC-series player who has done some limited mods in the past with CC3-CC5. I stress the word "limited."

I recently downloaded the "Stalingrad, der Kessel" mod and I really like it. In fact, I like it so much that I will no doubt play it several times.

My question relates to the topic -- how do I go about altering the force pool composition and/or unit limits in this mod? I am thinking about making some "what if?" scenarios for myself based on this mod.

Is this feasible, or is this in the "too hard to do box" for a relative novice.

Thanks for the help.
