Mooxe, whatever your decision, you will be doing such with a clear conscience. You kep thte REAL community going far longer than most would have even tried. If you close this door no doubt you will find a new game/hobby to put your hard and solid work behind, and those involved would be that much luckier.

Hey Sbufkle!

Maybe we´ll have a go over one of your WWI maps jut for the sake of the old days? Never managed to challenge one of the old The Great War mod team members in all those years and with the end of CCS looming on the horizon, it would be a nice touch, wouldn´t it?

cheers

Robo

ROBO!!! Upon leavign the CC community my biggest regret was not being able to get the CCV mod done! LOVE to discuss the GWM!

Is CCS on a timer? Mooxe has earned a gold medal keeping it going and all.. I would hate to see him thorw the towel in but woudl understand.

Type Ghazwah..THE BEST!

I think alot of my maps are already here! lol!

Its funny.. back in the day when I played CC so much, to get a single say 1.4 gig map the dl could take a couple hours thanks to the old screeching 56 k modem. I believe you could probably get  ALL of my maps now in the same timeframe!

Hey there, to most of you, I am a newbie, the rest who know me, I am a pain in the ass....

That being said.. I have been a part of console gamign for a few years now. Coule years ago I got back into change from being a specator in one gaming community to helping contribute with vidoes and blogs.

One blog I do regularly I vivist other games outside our community. I figured I would love to do a retro write up on revisiting Close Combat.

That beng said.. I want to play CC3.

Want to lay it online.

I have windows 7 at home

I know I need Game Ranger

What do I need to do to set up online match?

I wont be playing anything but short term.. I will load up all the maps I made, I have those on CD.. but really, just want a few games of fun, cpature some screenies and make a blog to promote onf of my favorite games I played...

Im happy to see the CCS around still.. and man.. the cries of "is CC dying" goes back over a decade. As long as you guys post in here and have online get togethers it will survive.

2 years ago I joined an Xbox Clan of older guys, somehow CC came up and the next thing you know a bunch f the guys had played it and i am sending  them mods and maps! (GREAT WAR MOD!!

Mooxe should have been allowed to be part of the rereleased for the very least being the hub of the communities with the CCS. If not even more..

But Matrix had its own forums and decided to go that way. which I can understand, but were talking hindsight, and that being so, a partnership with CCS as the acknowleged hub might have been a better fit. THe community was divided with rereleases. Those who made them honestly wanted to help the community strong, from what I believe, even when I briefly was a part of it. But hey... thats why you leave major release games manufacturing to the professionals.. modders in cc take those basic releases and make them better. The dynamics changed.

Personally, console gaming is the thing.. HD 1080p viewing, stereo turtle beach headsets, gaming conventions and modern games lobbies. I would have loved that for CC... but it just didnt happen.

A big thank you to Mooxe and what hes done to keep community alive.. and I really hope it stays there.. because it always has!

Not too sure about that.. despite the hours each week I put into Halo.. I suck but my 9 year old has won 2 tournaments and last fall when he was 8, scored a 'Prefection' in MLG room. God if I record a single positive K/D in an entire noght of gameplay.. Im happy!!

Connor played some CC in Dec, he was okay with it.. but as alot of kids are these days, the Multiplayer online wasnt dynamic enough.. remember these kids are used to XBL parties with a ton of bells & whistles. I still recall modems dialing into each othere PCs to play CC3!

sieterayos wrote (View Post):
Oh bless. Poor AGS is so traumatised by his collision with materialist dialectics that four or five years later he remembers its physical embodiment, sieterayos, not for his accurate prediction of the still deepening global economic crisis but as scapegoat for the demise of the CSO forums.

As National Socialism gave fantastical form to real problems, creating the global Jewish conspiracy to explain Germany's belated development and competative disadvantages, so AGS explains the demise of CSO by a fictitious alliance between Sulla and Sieterayos.

Yes, Sulla, or someone, wiped out a load of negative feedback given to sieterayos by the likes of AGS and a pile of fascists including 'doggy' and his pup. The latter two, having nothing to do with Close Combat, piled into the forum to smear, libel, denigrate and generally lower the level of discussion to a slanging match. Sieterayos must admit, they won on that score and that he in no small part sank to their level. AGS has nothing to say on this sad but real process, however, or that the mess was moved outside the main forum, or that 'doggy' was allowed to link his canteen to the cso forum or that no action was taken against 'doggy' for his libel or that sieterayos was suspended at least once for putting forward a legitimate political position or that he eventually abandoned the forum (yet it continued into oblivion) or any number of incidents and facts which might allow sieterayos to allege an alliance between Sulla and dogmuck.

In reality, the only alliance one can be sure of is a fantasy in the embittered mind of AGS.

The CSO mess was the venue for some lively and educational arguement for a long time. I cut my teeth in it and remember some as worthy adversaries. Sulla saw the victimisation going on but instead of controlling the perpetrators he sought to adjust rep power. It was the wrong choice of action. 'Doggy' should have been suspended for what he did and barred altogether if he didn't cease his libelous, and deliberately dishonest attacks.

As alot of you know, I was a mod at the CSO and admin for a while.. I dotn think I ever touched the Free For All forum, that means editing or deleting and I also stayed out of Siet and Doggies little battes! All I can remember is.. they were LONGEr posts than even my own famous long posts!
