Hi Guys!

I used to play all the time! I want to get back in. The difficulty was having the game installed on my replacement laptop. Last time I played was on an XP machine.... Do you guys have any pointers for installing on Windows 8.1? My replacement laptop really made installing things hard....I am on Discord: Dasaco#7752...

Hello,
To echo everyone's desire in this thread I would like to show my support for a major shift to Game Ranger.

However, I have been having some issues with gaming there. Although I suspect this is a separate issue I am not quite sure.

But I can at least attest to the fact that game ranger is much faster, less intrusive and straighter to the point than crappy gamespy

Hey everybody,

I am a CC fanatic, like anyone else here, and I thought to myself one day, why can't I play CC on the iphone? For one the commands controls are relatively mouse centric and could easily all be converted to touch based controls such as those on the iphone.

How awesome would it be to be able to play CC anywhere you had cellular phone reception? The game is old enough that I figure it could easily fit onto an iphone to begin with. If there is anyone there with the know how to possible convert the game we might have a second renaissance!

I would love to see how feasible this is.

Hey, I didn't want to make a new thread but can anyone help a newbie?

My question is how can I play H2H with/out using game spy arcade? Is there anyway that I could play from a different area without any special program? I looked around on the site for any tips on this and found nothing so far.

(Right now I have been playing my brother in a really intense GJS campaign, but I am about to deploy out of state and can't stick around to finish the game on our LAN. It would be tragic to stop playing but gamespy doesn't work on his computer....)

PostForum: Modding Workshop   Posted: Tue Jun 12, 2007 9:17 pm   Subject: Ideas about the medics
I understand that some people play the game to just smash the other player but I always think it would be cool to add a level of realism to the game. Thus medics. Instead of a force pool bonus my brother and I just thought of some ideas

1. All wounded soldier's statuses would become incapacitated after a certain time without being seen by a medic.

IE-Wounded becomes incapacitated w/o medic and then the incapacitated soldier dies w/o medic.

2. An additional drawback of not using medics would be that moral would be signicantly affected w/o attending wounded.

3. Incapacitated soldiers once seen by medics would be "stabilized" and moral would not be affected adversely.

4. Incapacitated soldiers removed from the field would increase moral slightly rather than decreasing moral for having lost men. The limit being that moral cannot be increased to higher than before the causualty was taken however.

5. Note-one option would be medics assisting enemy units.

Hey Guys,
I am an avid player of the close combat series and I play with my brother all the time. We had two ideas that we don't have the knowledge to implement but I wanted to toss them out there.

1. Contour Maps- For those who have trouble visualizing the terrain it would be cool if you could press a button (like the space bar command display) but instead the map would be shown as a contour map so you could get an idea of the layout. (I am sure the data is already there, it would just need to be displayed)

2. Not showing enemy troop data ever- How would you know if you killed an enitre squad? I think a level of realism would be added if you shot at a group crossing the street and never knew if you fully eliminated the team..."Are there any guys left?" That would add a whole new element

3. Prolonged Air Strikes- Spitfires and other figters would do more than one strafing run. Why not have multiple passes (maybe within 5 minutes to mimick full and ammo limitations). Also you could then add an anti-air unit or half track to shoot down the airstrike.

4. Medics recovering wounded- I always thought that leaving my incapacitated guys on the field sucked for them, especially when they didn't get attention for the duration of the battle, however long that could have been. I don't seeing this as strageically significant, but adding more realism. (Maybe a force pool bonus could be considered for "saving more guys")

Please let me know what y'all think.

How about looking for threads before making a new one.

You'll have to forgive me; I am new to forums.

On a more positive note I thought that your website was very efficiently laid out and obviously run with an iron fist! Keep it up, this stuff is great!
