PostForum: H2H Multiplayer   Posted: Sun Oct 09, 2016 1:24 am   Subject: Multiplayer database idea
Hi all,
I noticed a lot of “H2H opponent wanted” posts on this forum but think that effectiveness of this method is very low. The “problem” is that we are living in different time zones, have not many time to play and wait for opponent, prefer different CC games e.t.c. So my idea is to create players database where using different filters you can find players who want to play the same game at the same time. Then you can connect them directly ( by e-mail or private message on CCS ) and arrange about place, terms and time of your game.  I’m ready to moderate this database.
So if you support this idea fill and send enclosed form (  to my e-mail ( chernyak [at] starlink [dot] ru ). I will consolidate all the data and upgrade the database periodically in separate topic.
Regards,

Hi !

Can't reproduce such replacement...

Hi,

German, British and American voices are from Company of Heroes. Italian - from Afrika 40 mod. French - from Meuse Crossing 1940 mod.

I think the German armored unit needs a few more infantry as it doesn't take very long for them to get all shot up if I use them as my forward units so as to not use the tanks.

Hi,

Agree with you that German armored units need more infantry, but I tried to configure all battle groups based on available documents. For example, Gruppe Lueder at the beginning of the operation "Ochsenkopf" had a lot of tanks and only one platoon of pioneers !

I didn't find it easy to get LOS on the maps I played on.
One of the last battles I had to almost run over the allied troops with my tanks to kill them.
When I started I expected to have easy LOS on the open maps.

Well, some open maps have a lot of bush and it's not very easy to find there lying infantry teams...

When I started Grand Campaign, I only saw 3 units on strat map and looked like the Germans were already cut-off by Allied positions.

It's normal and Axis are not cut-off.  The main idea of the mod is strategic meeting engagement. Allies control only one map - Beja - and fight Axis in Medjez el Bab and Djebel Abiod. Axis control roads to these areas from their supply bases - Tunis and Bizerte. All other maps are not occupated. So it's a race for Tunisia!  Twisted Evil

Hi Dfox,

Very good job with the 92° Basilicata Regiment and I’m curious to see the final global result: an Afrika mod on a re-release it’s something that we all need.
Which difference there is between “Fucilieri a” and “Fucilieri b”? Can I suggest to delete “a” and “b” and to put between parenthesis the main difference (like a weapon for example)? If not, to delete “a” and “b” anyway?

I have two questions about the mod:
- How many maps there are in stratmap?
- I have seen some Bgs pictures and their forcepools seem almost empty: it’s a precise choice or you will work on them later?

And a request:
I don’t know if also this African battlefield, like the other two for CC5, was historically full of mines: even if it’s in this way, please, delete many of the mines and/or create large corridors/passages in the minefields if they cover a map from one side to another one: big minefields are a huge problem for the IA.

Drizzt

Hi Drizzt,

1) The difference between “Fucilieri a” and “Fucilieri b” is that “Fucilieri a” is a 7 soldiers team ( all with rifles ) and “Fucilieri b” - 6 soldiers ( 5 rifles and 1 smg ). “A” and “b” are to avoid the confusion.
2) How many maps there are in stratmap? - 44
3) I have seen some Bgs pictures and their forcepools seem almost empty: it’s a precise choice or you will work on them later? - Yes, it was a perceived choice, but I think that forcepools will be changed for better balance and playability.
4) About minefields. Thanks for advice. They will be changed for "human vs. AI" version of the mod.

Dfox, may I suggest that you list the light German MGs as such:  Gb le.MG42 Trupp  instead of Gb lMG42 Trupp

Hi,

The problem is that the maximum length of unit name is 19 characters. It's ok for "Gb le.MG42 Trupp", but not for "Pionier le.MG42 Trupp" ( 21 characters ). So "lMG42" is the standard abbreviation for different units in the mod.

By the way, the correct abbreviation is "le.M.G.42"  Surprised
