LSA GJS version 11

Note: Cathartes moved GJS to LSA June 6, 2013 ... which was version 6.0 beta. Thanks to him and everyone else who created the original GJS mod.
Version 6.0 notes are further down in this readme file.

Gold, Juno, Sword 11 - mod Install instructions:

1. install Close Combat Last Stand Arnhem
2. install CC LSA patch version: v6.00.04
3. run (double click) the mod installer program: CCLSAModGJS11v11

For Matrix version of the game:
4. install to the default directory "C:\Matrix Games\Close Combat Last Stand Arnhem"
5. deselect the Steam desktop icon box, and select the Matrix desktop icon box.
6. after installation ... Launch GJS using the Matrix desktop icon

For Steam version:
4. install to the Steam directory where CC LSA is installed.
5. deselect the Matrix desktop icon box, and select the Steam desktop icon box.
6. after installation ... Launch GJS using the Steam desktop icon

Note:Printable Strategic map, Battle Group info, and German Battle Groups documents are located in folder:
C:\Matrix Games\Close Combat Last Stand Arnhem\GJS11\DATA\Help

Allied player - click beach maps while in Strategic map screen ... to see move strategy info.

New for version 11

Grand Campaign:
German Battle Groups (BG's) have been repositioned closer to the front and in their historical areas of operation.
This change also makes it much easier for players to get these BG's organized at the front.
German Airstrikes removed

Elements:
Tree leaves have been edited to better represent how they block line of sight.

Operation Goodwood:
Reworking of the Operation.
Edits to "s.Pz.Abt 503" icons, in game screens, and Force Pool.
Moved some entry VL's for: Bourguebus, Caen, Cagny, Vimont.

Weapons:
17 pdr - increased "kill rating AP" by 5 percent. Achilles, Firefly, 17 pdr ATG.

German uniforms:
have been updated to be more historically correct.

Added Russian voices and names for Ost (Eastern troops) static Battle Groups.

Briefings:
Added strategic "Briefings" for the introdution of the Grand Campaign "GJS DDay to June 30"
Added Allied strategic "Briefings" for some Airborne sector and Beach maps.

Battle Groups:
Allied 152/51 arrives June 7th 0700 Ouistreham
Allied 154/51 arrives June 7th 1500 Ouistreham
This change was made in order to get these BG's closer to their historical location (in the Airborne sector).
Historically 51st Div moved into the Airborne sector about this time.

Static BG's:
Merville: reduced amount of German units
Ouistreham: reduced amount of German units
Benouville: reduced amount of German units
Pegasus: increased amount of German units
Removed "?" in Panzerj?ger name of two static units in the file. Changed to Panzerjager.

Campaign:
Ouistreham changed to major depot, so BG's arriving there will respawn .. if disbanded.

Operations:
GJS Goodwood - has been updated.

Elements:
"Leaves and Brush" Element (beside trees) has been edited to be like tall grass. This should help create less of a ghosting effect for tank vs tank engagements, while still providing cover for prone soldiers.
All trees: Line of Sight Blocked, even when adjacent.

fpools:
Some German Command teams edited to incorporate new uniforms.
Added back four Crocs to 231/50. Lost them by mistake in 9.5.

Vehicles:
Daimler AC: changed from AFV type (1) to AC type (3)

Maps:
Some beach maps have deployment zone moved inland slightly.

Sound:
some new sounds for small weapons.

Credits:
Cathartes (and team): for GJS version 6.0 - CC LSA
GameRat: work done on versions after version 6.0
Steiner: we started working together on this after version 6.0
buuface: helped with relocation of German BG's, and created some battles.
SchnelleMeyer: converted explosion graphics to LSA.
Mooxe: created an installer package to include a Steam version installation.
Tigercub: testing and suggestions.
mick_xe5: Edited German uniforms/ranks. Added Russian voices and names for Ost (Eastern troops) static Battle Groups.
Argilas: German uniforms research and testing.
squadleader_id: uniforms work from TLD Ground Tactics.
KG_Loki and STRIKE: testing and suggestions.

Honestly, I never paid much attention to uniforms in CC ... mostly because I was busy thinking about mod stuff.
But I recently switched on the "scale front end" option in the General options ... in order to make the "Soldier" screen larger.

And it does look much better having more historically correct uniforms.

Interesting you mention this. It was squadleader_id who made those changes for Ground Tactics ... he was helping with the mod. I was using a different CCS forum name at that time (davidssfx).

here are some of the things he did regarding uniforms:


List of changes - squadleader_id:
Gadget files (CCImages, ScrnGadg, GameGadg):

-New and expanded rank gadgets:
+ Heer Panzer crews: Black panzer Wrap, death's head collar tab, pink waffenfarbe
+ Waffen-SS Panzer crews: Black panzer Wrap, SS collar tab rank insignia, pink waffenfarbe
+ Heer Assault Gun crews: Feldgrau Assault Gun Wrap, double Litzen collar tabs with red piping, red waffenfarbe  
+ Waffen-SS Assault Gun crews: Feldgrau Assault Gun Wrap, SS collar tab rank insignia, red waffenfarbe
+ PanzerGrenadiers: Feldgrau Assault Gun Wrap, double Litzen collar tabs, grass green waffenfarbe
+ Waffen-SS: new rank gadgets with camo uniforms (using standard SS ranks insignia instead of special stripes insignia for camo)
+ French Commandos: with French Naval ranks insignia (updated version)  
AlsTeams.txt:
-New uniforms slots for US Rangers (feat. most Rangers not wearing sand brown M41 jackets)
-Ranger Company HQ, fixed Icon for BG Icon gadget
-Para Company HQ, fixed Icon for BG Icon gadget
-British Commandos Teams, corrected Style so that they're now using Commandos uniform slots
AxsTeams.txt:
-Assault Gun crews, allocated Nations & Style for new rank gadgets
-Armored Car crews, allocated Black Panzer Wrap ranks and uniforms

per the readme:
Extract the axsteams.txt, nations.txt, and uniforms.txt file to GJS95/data/base

Extract the GameGadg.gdg and ScrnGadg.gdg files to GJS95/Graphics

Extract the RUvox.sfx and ERUvox.sfx files to GJS95/LocalFX

Hi, I use these settings ... but sometimes am ok with "Morale" ON.
For LSA GJS though, "Morale" OFF ... is best (in my opinion) because it gives the Allies a better chance to get off the beach maps, due to battles not ending with low "Morale". Battles seem more intense too.

Interesting that you noticed a difference in your gameplay when using these settings. Thanks for mentioning it.
