Just got a new PC with Windows 7 Home Premium-64 bit version.  Have TLD up and running so far.  Will get the rest of the series installed over the next few days.

Been a long time since I did a fresh install of CC5, but I think I had a similar problem.  I believe I resolved it by Exploring the CD and then setting the properties for the install exe to run in Windows 95 Compatibility mode.

Re DIrect X, no need to install Direct X 7, iCC5 runs with Direct X 9, though you do have to disable Direct Draw.

Good luck

Sure, you can complain all you want, but if you don't provide details, then I have no way of fixing it.

The serial number for your copy of the game.  The same as you used to originally install it.

Thank you for teh feedback Kojusoki Lamurt,, glad you enjoy it.

Responded to your PM, but posting here as well in case others are having problems.

I have not had as much time to play the mod as I would like, but I have not had problems with it crashing.  Can you provide some details on the crashes.  I.e:

- Always on a particular map/maps
- Always when particular unit/team is selected
- etc.

I can use that info to debug it.

Cheers,
Jack

Exactly, if it can't break a glass it ain't going to brak a human.

Hey Mooxe,

Saw them testing something similar to this on Mybusters - whether a .50 cal round would break a glass from the shockwave if it passed close to the glass.  They found that it would not.  If the shockwave won't break a glass then I doubt that it would kill anyone.

Only possibility I can think of is that if it passes close to your ear the sound wave might rupture your ear drum and damage the inner ear, which in theory could kill you.  Probably a one in a few million shot though.

Thank you for posting this here Shrecken.

Pesk - The TLD Classic mod is nothing significant, but I hope it makes playing CC5 Classis more enjoyable.  It is self extracting as I used the TLD Mod Installer to pack it.

You are welcome,

I thanked my boss as well, as he is the person who told me about the site. You could also try http://ipmsstockholm.org/helpdesk.asp#color_charts, which has a colour matching chart between paint companies http://ipmsstockholm.org/colorcharts/colorcharts_2.asp or by nationality of the subjecthttp://ipmsstockholm.org/colorcharts/colorcharts.asp.

Let me know if you cannot find what you need, as my boss has a book with colour matching charts that may include the paint colour you need. We would need to know what paints the box refers to.

Hi karlmortar,

I cannot answer your question, however you may want to try the following site http://www.missing-lynx.com/. Your best bet is probably to go to the Discussion Groups page.

I also understand the Osprey recently released a new book on the subject of British and Canadian Paratroops.

Hi mikwarleo

The Combat Net is a meeting place for CC players, although there are occassionally other noon CC players on the server. In addition to The Combat Net some of the CC Clans also have their own TS servers, that are available off of the http://www.freeteamspeak.org/listing.php or the Clan's WEB page.

I believe that medics are already built into the game. When a soldier gets injured the soldier indicator changes from green (healthy) to either:

    yellow (injured - i.e. a medic was able to patch him up to continue fighting at reduced capability);
orange (soldier is so badly injured he has been sent to the rear for medical attention and won't be seen for a while); or
red (proud owner of a new farm)

Great idea re contour maps. I think there is an old mod floating around that accomplishes this.

I believe you only get full info on enemy squads if you have recon info about them, same as when they are alive. I have often moused over a dead squad and got no info, but later on in the battle gotten full info once I have gotten unit in close enough to get full info.

I think continuing air strike would unbalance the game. And having to set up AA defences takes more squads away from those you can attack/defend with. But I think it would be a great idea to have the AI determine if the plane ever makes it to the battle (i.e. shot down before it can attack).

Hi kweniston

Yes, I have M44 and all of the expansions for it (ooops, see there is a new one out). I play it with my wife and at a board/strategy games group that gets together every two weeks. It is a great game. As you said not overly realistic, but close enough for a quick board game.

For those interested you can see more about it at http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/10630
