Hello:
Why not work in an alternative medal to Order of Kutuzov for the Soviet side? For example the Order of Glory. If I correct in this, the Order of Kutuzov was mainly awarded to unit leaders and deputies. The Order's grades relates roughly to the three levels in the Military Art (In Soviet Military Doctrine): 1st= Strategic level, 2nd= Operational, 3rd= Tactical.
Bye.

What I'm likely to do is collect medals together, edit them and make them available as a resource for people to use in arrangements they like |

Hi Hicks,
I found this awards and medals resource site
Traces Of War
It has some miniature images crisp clear already, I think it will only need very minor tweaks to use them in close combat.
|
Good find!
I ought to be able to fill in a few gaps with this and be able to add some more resources for others to use. I don't suppose you have something that makes doing the shading on an A2 size portrait go faster as well? |

Here's the Last Stand Arnhem sounds with a couple of replacements and the bolt cycle volume lowered for the Mauser rifles:

CC3 with Der Ost Front. It had for me the best mixture of customisation and sense of progress. The scale of time was larger which gave more variety to what you would fight against. A strategy map layer would have been nice, but given how often the end section of a campaign descends into playing the same four or five maps over and over I'm glad it had the linear campaign instead. |

I've got quite a few drawing projects on at the moment, but I can add these on to the list
I looked at most of the European nations and have some Italian medals done. I can have a look for more as a set of resources that people can tag into mods. |

I suggest placing this sound mod in the GTC Download section, because it is the version 1.2.
Now in the Download it's version 1.1.

It'll be worth going through anything that's uploaded in dedicated categories and replacing them as there's a lot to add/replace. From the original post I've got versions to upload for:
CC3: Afrika CC3: Vietnam CC5: Okinawa [played through both sides Grand Campaign with it] CC5: Stalingrad CC5: Karelia CC5: Ardennes VetBob
I've just lowered the bolt volumes as previously asked for a few minutes ago. When there's a moment that my head isn't made of Swiss Cheese I'll see about tidying up files and uploading things.
Typically though it'll likely be the case moving forward that the most recent version will be on the mega.nz hosting as I'm an endless tinkerer with things. |

Thanks Hicks! I tried the one for LSA and I liked it very much, most of the sounds have this distinct "being fired outside" sounding.
If you are still working on this, I would advice to tone down the bolt action sound on the Kar98k? I think it is ok in the enfield for example.
|
Hello there! I just checked back here on the off chance today and it's lovely to see that you're enjoying the mods.
I can tweak the bolt cycle sound on the Mauser a bit lower and post an updated link in a day or two. I really ought to update the links in general as I did a number of changes to the sound packs for Gold Juno Sword, Ost Front and Ardennes.
Less said about the headache of redoing the menu graphics for GJS as an experiment the better though |

I have spent hours of mindless enjoyment over the years playing these games.
Now EA have announced their remastering, graphics etc and are releasing the source code so modders can add more units etc.
Its one of the few games I play my wife likes! she even makes maps for me!
There are a couple of clips to watch on IGN
So if your into it like I am or want something very similar to Close Combat (head to head & such) you won't be disappointed.

Make sure to wif- oh, nevermind you already have!
It'd be really nice to see Tiberian Sun get a new coat of paint. The Twisted Insurrection team are doing fantastic work, it'd be nice though to have Tiberian Sun tweaked and spruced up a bit. |

If you have issues with the videos I think it's possible to launch the game straight to an options window to disable them by holding ctrl and launching the game? |

Hey guys, I first want to apologize on behave of the Beta team for letting you all down on the buggy mess TBF was on release. It was a new engine new graphics and the dev team was focus on getting the engine polished instead of listen to our feedback which over the last few month since release they are now during with the public and putting in the feature needed badly in the game and fixing the bugs the new engine is posing on hardware not tested during beta phases. I for one apologize for my lack of time towards the end of the beta due to coming down with brain cancer, and the passing of my grandmother who I was care-takeing for 8 yrs. I am sorry for letting you all down, but since the last post in this forum of Oct 30 and its now a week before Christmas the game is still not perfect, but it much better improved where I put my stamp of approval on it now.

Reddit is infested with left wingers, so if someone dares to claim that the Nazis may or may not have had left leaning aspects - then that causes a crisis of confidence in their group identity. If the left wing can be associated with something bad, then it means they aren't perfect - that *they* aren't perfect and therefore cannot sit on high and tell all us plebs what to think, what to do and how awful we all are, because we aren't as pure as they have defined themselves.
Tik had some balls to post a video like that, I don't envy him the shit storm he'd have encountered though because of it. |

There's been some oddities with the older driver as well. Sometimes the games will work/sometimes not with the NVidia overlay enabled.
Something else for others to be aware of. |

Just thought it would be worth posting for other players that are using GTX and more recent video cards in their PCs that the most recent driver release for those cards [which enables ray tracing support etc. on GTX cards] can balls up compatibility with older - pre Panthers in the Fog, Close Combat games, with them crashing on trying to load a map - seemingly unless the map can fill at least a desktop resolution space.
The March 2019 release drivers should still work with the game[s] though. |

A couple of things that might be worth trying are running from dvi [if present] to hdmi through a converter, switching the screen display through 4:3 / 16:9 after lowering the desktop resolution. Windowed mode where available in games can be a great help.
Is your desktop displaying correctly? I use a tv through hdmi as well and found a mix of the above to help with most issues. The biggest problems were with games that required an 800x600 resolution displaying at 4:3. |

No problem, just would have been nice to get it working for you.
The only other thing that comes to mind is running winxp in a virtual machine and then playing the game that way? I've got it set up on my pc to use xp with some mod tools due to them not working on win7. |

Which version of Win 10 is it? The home or the business? There seem to be mixed results for people running the game on the operating system.
The only thing that I can think of that would be worth trying is the gog [re]release of the game. |
