I've been MIA for awhile. How do I upload to this site? I made some new maps (last year) that are compatible with COI and CC3.  Smile

If anybody is interested I think I solved some of the problems with the AI not being aggressive enough on user created maps.
The problem is with the victory locations when created in the scenario editor. Apparently they are not valuable enough for the AI to take them.
With a little hex editing in the battle or operation file you type c8 00 00 00 before each victory location name. This will help the AI become a little more aggressive.
Not sure though if this has already been figured out? It seems so simple.

Am I the only one still playing COI & CC3? Sad

FYI-

If anybody is interested I've got about 6 new COI or CC3 maps available to upload.

Does anybody know where I can find more history about Yakov Pavlov in the battle of Stalingrad? How many germans did he and his men kill? How many tanks? I can't find very much info.

I am anxiously waiting for the new release. I've been wanting to start a new grand campaign with the old version but I'm trying to hold off until version 2.0 is released.

I'm just curious if anybody knows what the 6th line down on the Map.txt file is? I'm assuming it's
0 for german offensive
1 for allied offensive and
2 for meeting engagement.

I know that the 5th line down is for weather,
1 is light mud
2 is deep mud
3 is light snow and
4 is deep snow

Does coding the elements differently in the elements.txt file help with A.I. aggressiveness? For example, would making the light snowy field element similar to tall grass help?

Is there anyway that Microsoft Java Virtual Machine & Microsoft .NET Framework Redistributable can be hosted as a download on this site? I spent awhile trying to find both of them to run BGedit. I figured it would be useful for somebody in the future>

Just want to say thankyou to all that made this mod. I've been playing as the germans against the AI and I've almost conquered the strat map. No problems with any crashes and seems to play really well, although I think a vet mod would definately be an improvement when playing the AI. The maps are awesome! Any chance of some sneak peaks of your new maps Manoi?

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
