HI Dima,

I've noticed that many german infantry teams don't have any squad leader, it's usually some fireteam but some scouts teams are also leaderless (like the ss spaher). Useless to say that scout teams rareley fight next to a command team and have a tendency to surrender or rout quickly because of that. Supprinsingly, it's usually the more experienced teams that are leaderless while the inexperienced teams have a leader. I wondered if it was made on purpose or if you simply forgot to add a leader in the team.

Hi Tack,

I did a quit search and it appears to be a CCV bug. Theses tanks disapeared from my force pool, not from the active units in the BG.

I fought my first battle with that bg and used 5 panthers, losing 2 to enemy fire. the 3 survivors (undamaged) were still active in my bg for the next battle (keeping their stats and all) but the reserve in my force poll was reduce from 7 more tanks.

It's not like I had a lot of panthers to lose that way... Sad

Just lost a total of 7 panthers from my 12 ss panzer regiment for no reason (2 command panthers, 4 panther A, 1 panther G and some infantry squads in a H2H GC. All this in one turn. I was able to compare with previous saved files.

My BG was in full supply and only fought once at this time, losing 2 panthers. Damn, that battle took away 9 tanks? Why is that?

Hi Dima,

It's not really a bug but I wanted to share this. Maybe you can do something about it.

First, the SS command Tiger in sSS panzer ablt. 101 can't have a high rank like captain or lieutnant. They are stuck with a lower rank just like any squad leader. In battle, it affects their command radius. Here is a screenshot of the highest ranked Tiger commander i could have as first platoon command spot. It is also considered like a simple leader and not like a commander.



Same thing happens with SS Command pz IIIM.



Finally, the SS Command Panther does have Heer uniforms and marking instead of SS when on battlegroup screen.




Here again, same thing happens to ss panther D


Also, SS command panther A and panther D share the same picture with their Heer counterpart.

This being said, it doesn't affect gameplay that much but it would be great to fight with a Hauptsturmfuhrer's Tiger Wink

In Vet BoB mod, playing as the germans, you get Kings tigers in KG peiper on december 18th. You have to lose your first panther (the one below the command tank in the battlegroup screen). It will be replaced by a King tiger on the 18th AM turn. I usually send this tank on a suicide mission on the 17th pm turn to lose it and get a king tiger on the 18th am. Or you can simply create a scenario with KG peiper on the 18th. Wink

You also have a king tiger in KG Knittel (1SS recon battle group).


I've seen Tigers 1E later on in the 116th panzer. Somewhere around christmas if I recal correctly.

Playing as the american, you will definetly face king tigers against KG Peiper. There are also some «tiger» and «huge beast» around Laughing

So here we have the US 7th armored in malmedy. It will then move directly to bullingen and attack KG Peiper.

And here is what happens if I move KG Peiper forward to butgenbach. US 7th armored ends up behind KG Peiper.

So this is how it looks like. The victory locations for the roads connections between these maps are correctly named. This is weird.

Also, I made a mistake in my firts post, Units can only go from malmedy to bullingen. There's no problem with Lanzerath. (south of Bullingen)
I'd greatly appreciate if you could help me to fix this Smile

Well...in the mappack, the malmedy map replace the original stavelot map, west of butgenbach (original baugnez). And a unit can't move from malmedy to butgenbach...it can only move directly to bullingen.

I didn't know the malmedy map was done by pvt_grunt. Maybe he knows the answer... Smile

Have you guys played with the mappack? Everything was working correctly?

Yes the map pack is a plug-in and you need to have vetbob 1.13 installed to play it, wich I do. I have re-installed everyting, from the whole game to the vetbob related plug-ins. I currently have the patched game, vetbob 1.13 with german vet, small tanks, british voices and the map pack. I had the malmedy battle map for vetbob too but removed it, maybe that's the problem.

Are the strat map connections in the .btd files? I don't know how to modify files

Hi all,

I'm playing CCIV again after a long break and I discovered the Map pack and installed it. But there seems to have a problem with the malmedy butbenbach-bullingen-losheim section on tthe strategic map. When playing as germans, american units in malmedy just move directly to bullingen, skipping butgenbach. US units can also move from malmedy to lanzerath in the same way. I guess the problems is a matter of connection between the maps.

Is it a known bug? I tried a new install and it doesn't help. I can I correct this?
