Homba,
I got involved in the community at the end, and played almost exclusively causally if I recall correctly (I sucked as a player  Embarassed ). All the same, the names on that leader board are a blast from the past, JIHADXX, BoroXXX, zon...

As you said the guy in the allied helmet was a friend of BoroXXX, the german helmet is actually Chris Crawford the dev of Atari's Eastern Front (1941). I remember we actually emailed him to ask permission to use his photo in the banner. I might even have the email exchange with him still archived somewhere. Around that same time we made a whole bunch or new banners for the THouse.

My first war game was Civil War General, think I still have the cardboard keyboard command sheet that came with the game somewhere. My first war game I played online was Close Combat 2.

I've never had a problem running in CC2 on vista.

As verba said try out the CC Starter program, it might help.

Biggest problem I have with this is the lack of allowance for playing mods.

To the best of my knowledge CC has always had it as follows.

HE = High Explosive
HT = High Explosive Anti-Tank (HEAT)
AP = Armor Piercing
SP = Special (varies by weapon)
SM = Smoke

Odd, not sure why that's happening. Actually never even seen an error like that.

Think you could upload a screen shot of the error message.

Looks great, keep it up.

The XXX corp green line is to the best of my knowledge hard coded in the .exe, and non moddable.

Ok here goes.

First you need a full install of CC2 on your hard drive. The minimum install wont work.

1) download the file and save it some where on you computer.
Link: http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=4053

2) You should have a file called "CC2_OpJustCause.zip' on your computer if you used the above link form CCS. If you download it from Mod Data Base, the name will be different but everything else is the same.

3) Unzip the folder.

4) You should now have a folder named "CC2_OpJustCause" on you computer.

5) Open the folder named "CC2_OpJustCause". You should see the following files and folders.
-data
-games
-graphics
-sounds
-temp
-cc.hlp
-cc2.exe
-cc2hlp.dll
-cc2rsrc.dll
-readme.txt
-setupenu.dll

6) If you see all these files your good. Now insert your CC2 CD into your CD Drive, and double click the cc2.exe file inside of the CC2_OpJustCause folder.

That should do it.

There is the Selective Service System which could be used to mobilize, draft, men between 25 and 18 years of age. 21 being the first group called up. The Selective Service is expected to deliver the first batch of men to the military within 193 days.

Training and Organization I would imagine, would follow standard US military procedures. As for equipment I would imagine they would be issued with what was being made or in storage.
