Your HD write speed is VERY low, even most crappy USB sticks have a faster write speed than 13mb/s, if it's really 13mb/s, you should get a better disk or if you have one allready, recheck the settings. My Samsung F1 750 does about 80-90 mb/s avg and my WD raptor 300G does about 120 mb/s avg. You should notice alot of improvement with a better HD/better configured HD, since the HD is allways the slowest part in a pc.

EDIT: ok I just ran that novabench and the F1 did 37mb/s and raptor did 55 mb/s. Which is kinda odd when HDtune and ATTO and all other disk benchmarks i know report way higher write speeds. Still I would check with one of the other benches.

Hi,

Sorry, but I stay on my position. Islam is a sect for a lot of reasons but at least two are even more obvious:

1) In Islam, there is no separation butween the spiritual and all the other aspects of the life.
2) In Islam, if you quit your religion, you are condamned to death.

If this is not a sect, so what it is??

Cheers

P.S. The fact that they are 1 billion does not change anything

Are you sure about those 2 points, PJ? Wink
Umm...let's just get back to just enjoying our fave CC shall we Very Happy

Well maybe it has something to do with you coming here telling how you think the operation is pointless and actually insulting the people who played in the OP. While we made it clear from the start how this public OP for new Pzt recruits would be played. We can't help it if people don't care to read the goddamn rules and than accuse us afterwards we changed the strat for the benefit of Pzt, while anyone with half a brain can see how that deploy in Carp would totally screw the allies in tactical and strat layer, if anything we safed the allies from certain defeat, which is why we didn't want the public todo the strat in first place. Since the public will never put in the time needed to get a good overall view on the strategic situation and really I don't expect them to do that either. So no Mooxe we wouldn't second guess your strat movement, we wouldn't let you do the strat movement in the first place, again, read the rules before you think about joining an OP. Anyway there are enough "desperate" people around to keep the show on the road. Rolling Eyes Thanks for your interest anyway ...

This is pretty sad Pzt, i used to be a member of Pzt and though you guys were ok. This thread, and your dishonorable behaviour in that Clan war, is changing my view about you.

I played in that war, and as far as I could see it Pzt was more and more awol as the game turned against them. I know Bjorn and he is always active, always hanging out on Gamespy and is not hard to find. The way I see it pzt just started fading away as things turned sour.

Dude you didn't even play in that war, what the fuck are you talking about ... Poor attempt to stir shit up I say, so really we couldn't care less if you think we are sad for telling the facts, everything better than a nobhead pulling shit out of his arse.

I doubt the question killed the thread Wink

With the Verbal command you can try to order civilians to move to a safe location or away from the location you are protecting.

With Search command you can search civilians looking for insurgents who might be hiding among the crowd with weapons afaik.

"When Pzt quit the field" Yeh Bjorn you actually have to be online to meet Pzt in the field... H2H doesn't work offline to well, try to remember next time or atleast tell your members, next time you are gone for several weeks, so the 2ic can take over.

the main argument still is, that a game covering WW2 is better (in terms of political and historical correctness) than a game covering a recent, still ongoing conflict.

And what bothers me most is the question if civilians will be around in the public version as well...

What happens if you kill civilians? no decorations?

Well afaik, the public version doesn't have civvies. But even if there were, and I wish there were, what does it matter?
It's ok to defend the 3rd reich, which stands for persecution and killing of the jews and untermenschen, but it's more wrong or politicaly incorrect to kill a civillian directly, cause he threw a rock at you ? ...All this in a virtual world offcourse, where noone gets hurt. I don't think so and I really don't see the problem. Eventho we try and make things as realistic as possible, it is still fiction.
My virtual marines have lots of virtual civvie blood on their hands and frankly I was laughing my ass off, like a bloodthirsty maniac, Mac can vouch for that Very Happy If that makes me politically incorrect ...so be it.
Does that mean the marines train at killing civilians and get medals for it, offcourse not. It's used to train how to deal with angry mobs without killing people. But obviously I don't make a good marine commander Twisted Evil But that's the whole point of this simulation in the first place, you can fuck up without consequences.

As for historical correctness, the addition of civilians would in many battles only add to historical correctness.

Once Dima releases TRSM I'm so out of this thread Very Happy

but thn again No one said it will.

Look, the thing is that this kind of ideas,in my opinion, cannot just be released under a pretext of a harmless computer game! What would be the reaction of the US Government and the public in general if a company would start to publish hundreds of pc games where the aim would be to destroy the evil Americans (would be nice to see)? hypocrisy is a strong point of American leaders, but PC games should be left aside for educational and recreational only.

In a long run everyone will loose, no exception for US.

About the idea of pc games, where the enemies of america would be heroes, i think it would be a blow out sale!

Well here we go yet again, what kind of ideas would that be ? That terrorists are bad? You think they aren't? Please enlighten us ... I must have missed that propaganda pamflet that came with CCMAT when testing.

I don't know if you noticed, but you can play CC as both sides, switch to the other side and you can just do what you said ... kill the evil infidel americans ...OMG THE OUTRAGE!!!! Rolling Eyes As a matter of fact every CC version to date gives you this option , doesn't it ? And CC is hardly the only game where you can kill Americans... Maybe you should have thought about that one abit longer ...

And again this is a bloody training tool for marines training them in asymetrical warfare. Get over the hypocrite political bullshit allready, these factions they fight in this training tool can be other American people for all you know. This is a training tool for the army, armies have shit to do with policy making...

No offense but pzjager just asks for it with his complete bullshit, he hasn't got a clue what he's talking about. He hears something faintly about terrorism and US and starts shouting about US propaganda and what not.
For one there is not even a faction called terrorists (they are called french) , secondly it's not even meant to be released to the public. People tell him this a few of times, yet he continues his bullshit, ignoring people who actually know what they are talking about. And you expect a friendly and serious response in return?
CSOSimtek decided to give people abit of a peek into the things they are up to with the CC engines and indirect the future of CC6 (something they weren't obliged to do) and all you guys can do is whine about how they should do things differently, while non of you have actually played it or has any knowledge about what CSOSimtek has to deal with.
It's one thing being sceptical and believe me I'm still sceptical, but it 's a completely different thing shouting unsubstantiated bullshit about things you know nothing about. There is nothing wrong with criticism either, hell that's why they asked people to test, yet somehow the ones with the biggest mouths here didn't bother signing up.

There someone had to do it ...

and don't worry, the faction isn't called France either Very Happy

Flight sims cannot be compared to simulating a battlefield with 100s of troops. I am not sure what exacly they use CC for in training, but I believe its very limited and does not substitute the experiences of field exercises. I would like to see some USMC or RAF document stating in detail how its helped. I would also like to know exactly how much time they spend playing CC and under what circumstances.

Man we have alot of good new CC waiting down the line Smile

First the commercial version of this to keep us busy till CC6 will be released and Sulla also mentioning CC7 with a totally new engine now over at CSO forums. That combined with the rereleases aswell could actually give the CC community a great boost.

The 5 vs 5 will give a whole new twist to clan wars I'm sure, clans should start recruiting so they can field 5 men. Very Happy

5 vs 5 , 1 hour battle, clan wars...hmmm drewl, that will make for some interesting tournaments/ladders.

And AAR's with all the screenshots and writing will be a thing of the past mostly, since you can simply download the replay, I can't wait ...

And for computer simulations not working, I seriously doubt it, offcourse you can't simulate bullets and mortars landing around you with a computer, but for teaching tactics it's a great tool. Commanders can see exactely what went wrong or right and why, from a view you will never have in the field. Offcourse the real thing is different when there are mortars coming in and you took casualties, but the tactics/ execution remains the same. The commander will offcourse need other training to remain cool in battle situations and I agree you won't be able to simulate that with a computer, but to say such simulation doesn't work...noway. Just look at flightsims, you can learn a pilot to basicly fly a plane without him ever leaving the ground. You can learn him to do all kinds of manoevres in certain situations. Will this simulate the stress in combat, no hardly, will this make him experienced with the plane and the manoevres, yes offcourse it will.
Same for ground warfare, an officer with the right info, will be way more familiar with tactical situations in the field, even if he only executed them on sims before. He will still know what's important for succes and knows how to act on it.
Can you replace training only by sims, no offcourse not, but sims do give the opportunity to learn 100's of different situations at a fraction of the cost and time of when you were to train all of those situations in real exercises.

P.S. The only downside I can think off is that officers now will tell their squad with only less than 50% survivors (you won't get them back next round anyway), to "VL RUSH THAT POSITION AT ALL COST" and expect the enemy to piss off after 15 minutes of fighting Laughing "What do you mean the enemy is still there? Did you tell them about the 15 minutes and the deploy rule? What do you mean they don't care ? It's a fucking violation of CC rules damned!!! Allright that's it guys back to GameSpy... I mean base , they cheat...!"
