It's a dwindling number and I'm sure as the numbers get reduced to a handful, there will be renewed public interest in the history and the people who were there (as well as who actively served in WWII) before they are all gone, similar to what happened with the last survivors of the Great War.
Millions of people on all sides suffered immensely and many went through living hell. How lucky we are to now be living in peaceful times. |

I did have a peak in the game files, but there doesn't seem to be anything there. For now it seems I don't need the serial code for afterall, since the games are already the updated versions, so hopefully I won't have any issues. |

Seems like some of the titles are already coming with updated versions in which case the patches are not necessary, but interesting nevertheless if a serial number is still provided somewhere. |

So I decided to expand my CC collection today and acquired several of the re-released titles via GOG.
I am now looking to install the latest patches, where the installer asks me to enter in the serial numbers. They were never required for the installation. For one title, it pulled it in automatically out of nowhere, but for WaR and LSA I can't find any serial numbers and can't install the patches as a result.
Does anyone know where I can find these? |

Hello!
I managed to check my connection today and am now looking at playing again some time soon.
I'm looking for someone to preferably start an op with to get back in the flow. I have TLD at the moment, but am also more than willing to get hold of LSA and WaR.
I'm based in Europe: UTC + 1 (can play in the evenings or at the weekend)
If interested, feel free to message me here or on discord |

I always thought it was a shame that the CC community was never very big, but conversely it had the benefit that most users are familiar to each other.
I don't think I've touched CC for the last 13 years. If it wasn't for this site, I don't think it would have been possible to get back to playing CC. This is the place to find tips, mods, files and everything CC related you need.
I was reading though some of the old threads and stumbled across Mooxe's thread about closing the site. I'm glad this wasn't the case and credit to the site running for so long and having the most ever users online afterwards in 2017.
Thank you Mooxe and everyone else who has kept this community alive whilst some of us drop out, but also know where we can always come back. |

I did have issues with videos, but was still able to open up the game, but ended up with the purple screen. I was able to resolve this though by changing the display settings to windowed, which was suggested elsewhere here on the forum. |

Great, I decided to dig out an old laptop which was well beyond it's last legs (performance severely reduced by the last windows update) and surprisingly, a complete wipe of the disk managed to get it up and running again. So TLD works (I didn't realise it also includes classic CC5 on it).
So now my machine is up and running, I just need to see if I need to forward any ports on my router and I should be good to start testing my connection |

Thanks for your input JFFulcrum.
With the newer machines, I guess this would mean sticking exclusively to the re-releases of the games (TLD, LSA etc.)?
Will this run on the standard setup of a pc, or will some changes need to be made? I saw for example that there were issues with running the game in full screen etc, but it sounds like any computer with a modern OS should work fine with the new releases, correct?
As of now I don't have much use of the machine otherwise to be honest, so I am thinking of either getting hold of an old computer (TLD Spec states windows vista up to windows 10) from somewhere or getting something up to date but purposefully nothing spectacular. |

Hello CC community,
Not so much tech help as advise that I'm looking for here. I am looking at finally getting back to playing some CC, but I currently have the issue of not having a computer (I have a work laptop, but can't use that for games..).
So now I'm keen to hear from other users what a suitable hardware setup would be to take compatibility into account (I am looking to play CC5/TLD and try LSA out).
Do I need to look for older OS / setups in order to avoid compatibility issues, or can relatively up to date PCs still handle CC5? I'm guessing TLD and LSA would be less of an issue, but I am interested in hearing what sort of experience people have made with playing some of these older games on newer machines so that I can find the right machine to get back to playing some CC5
Any advice is much appreciated! bebusszmski |

I had found a solution to that error. Just start, and hold Ctrl and press 'play'. Change the resolution to whatever the screen size is.

I have the same problem, but I don't quite understand your solution. Can you elaborate? |

Thanks Mooxe.
I see that Matrix released Gateway to Caen - does the TLD Mod Battle for Caen recreate Gateway to Caen for those who have TLD, or is it something different altogether? |

Hello CC World
After many years away from the CC scene I have been looking forward to getting a chance to start playing a little bit again In this respect, it would be useful if I could be brought up to speed on the current state of things. I have seen there are quite a few new (re)releases - TLD, Gateway to Caen, Last Stand Arnhem, Panthers in the Fog etc.
For someone looking to get back into things (and having to get hold of the new releases) - which games are the most recommended for returning to the online scene and looking to find opponents? Have these games generally replaced CCV and the various mods online
Also, I know Gamespy is no longer around. Are people mostly meeting on Gameranger now to play?
I have seen that the new releases can be bought with or without the Disc. Are the new releases protected by a serial key or similar? I am also interested in maybe playing via LAN - would I need to purchase two copies or can the file/disc be installed on two machines?
I hope these questions aren't too much of a pain to answer
Either way, looking forward to to your responses and last but not least, glad to be back!

Forum: Tech Support Posted: Sat Feb 20, 2010 1:18 pm Subject: Mobile Internet USB Sticks |
What are people's experiences of playing CC5 (or anything else) online using one of these mobile internet usb sticks? Is it easy to change the settings for these things? I am considering changing my internet connection, as I have a shared connection and can't change any of the firewall settings etc, hence no CC5...
Thanks,

Hi,
I'm not very clued up on these things. For these last two ports do I type it in exactly as shown or just one of the numbers? Problem being it wont let me as there is not enough room in the box.
Cheers
