CC_CO,
I think you have something else installed. I just installed the plugins for GJS44 TRSM 0982 and took screenshots:
Here's my LocalFX folder after installing the plugins:
Your Sound.sfx is 53 Mb and mine is showing 86 Mb. Those are different sound files.
I would delete the old deathsounds plugin (after uninstalling from ConfigMGR), download it again from this site, then reinstall the plugin. |

CC_CO,
Fixed the link above so that it directs you to the download section of this site.
I just played a clan war (Red Devils versus the Panzertruppen) and 4 or 5 of us had the sound mod installed without issue.

AGS-
Thanks for the great Der Ost Front Mod. In my opinion, it's the best COI mod out there-
Without a doubt, it is excellent for Head-to-Head gaming-
I don't believe Nikin was 'trying to help.'

If you don't like a mod out there, either don't play it or make your own damn it

Created a sound mod for TRSM version 982-
Here's the mediafire link to download the plugin:
TRSM version 982 DeathSounds
Just added it to the downloads of this site- so it should be available there too in a week or so...

Quick note: always copy original files that you intend to replace to your desktop or a personal back-up folder before copying over them- that way you can go back to the original configuration if you don't like what you changed. Plugins work differently...they create a back-up for you when you install them and automatically put the original files back in place when you uninstall the plugin.
I'm not sure if other sound mods are out there for stock COI, but I made some. Here are the links to a German player version plugin and a Russian player version plugin:

Russian Player Version
Just find the plugins folder in the Cross of Iron folder and place the downloaded plugin file there. Use mod swap to install the sound mod.

It sounds like you might have installed these sounds for the stock Cross of Iron game rather than Der Ost Front? Not sure. In that case the sounds will be mixed up. This sound mod is meant strictly for the Der Ost Front 2.0 mod of Cross of Iron.
When it comes to sounds in Close Combat, each mod (Grossdeutchland, Real Red, etc.) or version of the game (CCIII, TLD, LSA...etc.) may have weapons assigned to different wave files, rather than one standard across the board for all games. One mod could code an MG34 as sound#20, while another mod could have it listed as sound#4. Because of this, sound mods specify exactly which mod or game they compliment.
There are other sound mods located in the downloads section of this site that you could explore for the various versions of close combat and associated mods.
Hope this helped- |

It's normal
The grenade throwing sound is the default sound I picked for errors, attempting to deploy troops during set-up in darkened areas, cancelling orders, and stuff like that
thanks |

WN8/709 INF versus 12/4 INF (Priapus) at Tare Green
German coast defenders prepare their defenses in the hedgerows near the road to the west. American airstrike neutralizes German AT capabilities and DD tanks get into the German lines...
Only one German soldier from WN8 survived the onslaught.
919/709 INF versus 502/101 AB (Priapus) at St. Germaine-De-Varreville
Screaming Eagles and German Wehrmacht tangle early on in the hedgerows to the south. After fierce fighting, the superior paras demonstrate that they are experts in their craft...
The Germans are stopped cold in the hedges and the 101st secures most of the roads to the north and the east.

WN5/709 INF versus 8/4 INF (Priapus) at Uncle Red
The D-Day beach landings begin. After a fierce fight, the Americans secured most of the sand at Uncle Red.
Stubborn German defenders still hold the Bunker, Blockhouse and the LaGrande Dune.

WN 4/716 INF versus 3/6 AB (tedy28) at Merville Battery
German coastal defense soldiers suppress the British Airborne in a field outside of the Battery with FlaK and sMG fire.
Tommie will have to shed more blood to get out of Drop Zone V.
642 Ost/716 INF versus 5/6 AB (tedy28) at Pegasus Bridge
British glider troops caught in a crossfire when they attempt to move into the woods from their landing zone. Once the Brits recovered, they suppressed the Ost enough to drive forward and secure the Crossroads.
Ost fought well...but more troops will be needed soon to protect the bridge.

ArmeeGruppeSud-
First of all, thanks for the awesome mod. It's the best COI/CC3 mod out there. DOF3 sounds great...hope it gets finished.
As for the aggressive AI in this vet mod...
I think it's a combination of lowering the accuracy of german weapons and bumping up the helmut & body armor values in the soldier text file. Russian soldiers don't just die off when they come under fire...they stay alive longer and have more time to fire back/move. This compensates for the slow reactions of the AI. The Russian squads have additional men in each of them too, which make them tougher to deal with. That's the theory anyways...
Yea there are other ways to make the AI behave differently (VLs or registry editing, for example) but the above methods were what I chose and this worked out well.
Let me know if you need .wav files, sounds, or a sound.sfx file made for your DOF3 mod, I'd be glad to help. |

729/709 INF versus 507/82 AB (Davidssfx) at Amfreville
American paras dropped into the cover of town, so we set up our heavy machine guns in the hedgerows and waited for them. Fierce combat took place for a roadside VL between two small hedgerows only 10 feet apart. It was a bloodbath on that road.

I. Fj Ersatz at Ijzendijke
Fallschirmjager trainees are able to assault the remaining Canadian positions after the 88mm 'Zeus' mangles their Sherman tanks...
Once surrounded, the remaining Canadian infantry began to panic, surrender, and/or die.
It was a surprise, but our trainees secured Ijzendijke.
