Yeah I played the first CM demo as well as the Barbarossa To Berlin demo - i liked them both but it would be better if it was less symbolic and more fun, like showing all the guys in a squad instead of just 3, that bugged me a lot for some reason. I want to find a full version of Barbarossa on-line sometime...

Downloaded the demo yesterday - really impressed, generally. While this game can be characterized as a "realistic" computer game, it totally still falls into some cliche video-game pitfalls at times, usually with the way AI behaves - like when your guy that's firing a cannon won't jump away from it when an enemy soldier runs right up in his face and shoots him point blank, your guy tries to kill him with the cannon at a range of 5ft, or like when infantry empty SMG clips at tanks. But the graphics and effects as well as the sneaking options you get make up for it for the most part. Also there's a disclaimer not during the load screen that says the demo doesn't reflect the way the final game will be (is).

Hmm, ok, the reason I mentioned Mark III's/IV's is because I looked at a copy of an official 1942(?) manual for a PTRD rifle and it gave instructions on how to hurt a Mark III I think, well perhaps at 14m you can mess up its tracks or something, althouhg in usually in CC3 if my ptrd guy is about 14 m away he either gets killed right away or after the first shot...but i guess that depends on where he's hiding, etc.

Hey, I'm a newbie, been only playing CC3 for a couple of months. Is there an effective way to use the PTRD/ATR teams or are they just worthless? Historically I belive the PTRD rifles were effetive against Mark III's and IV's, and could do other minor damage to bigger tanks, esp tracks. It seems that in CC3 the best I can do with an ATR team is to "damage" a small tankette as well as a car/halftrack, or knock one out after at least a dozen shots. Just shooting a halftrack with a Dshk is seems to be much more effective! Mad
P.S. I'm using Real Red, not sure if it has any effect on the ATR teams though.

Yeah, I really like this site, so much cleaner, and easier to use then closecombat.org (which is still a good resource) or any other site like this!

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
