Thank for the pointer.  The situation is not too bad for either sides.  I think French still have an edge with 4 DCR at the back.  Interesting to follow.

How do I view the file?  I re-installed the latest Meuse mod and move the gc file to the save folder but cannot see it in the game menu.

Have been playing War Thunder for a month.  I really enjoy both the air and tank battle.  The only thing I missed is the historical battle with CC like environment.  But for realistic battle in the games, it is as good as you can get these days.

Hi Tejszd,

Thank you for updating this mod.  This mod is one major reason for me to go back to Close Combat series after 4 years of not playing.  After playing this latest Meuse mod, I did notice some of my previous recommendations were implemented.  Great. Very Happy

I do notice one issue while playing the German in grand campaign.  On day 2, one French BG re-appear at the eastern most map (Wresse-sor-Semois) while I already fully control the second lines of maps.  The French BG appear out of no where, I believe this particular BG was disbaned at the previous day.

Thanks

Work and family take most of my attention these days.  I did played other games but not as much as when I were in CC games.  Mostly Total Wars, BattleField, Harpoon and Command (also from Matrix).  A couple days ago, I was watching the ABTF movie and that made me to check out the CC arena.  So, how has the recent CC releases after CCV?

Are you still in CDN forces?

The GJS GC, if the players are evenly skilled or experienced. The GC will be decided within the first 2 days. That is if the frist 2 waves of Allied BGs can get off the beach and be able to rout a few weaker German initial BGs. A lots of ifs.

Failing to do that, it is very difficult for Allies to win. For Germans, just like mikwarleo said, delay at all cost so that the panzer BGs can either form a defense line or even better, wipe out the Allies beachheads with rolling panzers. ROAR Smile

Actually, there is a beta version of Meuse in zip file format. You can download it from http://hosted.filefront.com/nogravity

All you need to do is to install Meuse v3.4 and unzip this zip file at C: drive to overwrite the CCV files. (Provided that your CCV is installed at C drive). When you uninstall Meuse3.4, all the files will be reverted to original CCV files.

It has lots of bug fixes of Meuse 3.4 by Tejszd and me. Most of the changes are made to match the historical values :
1) forcepool values for all the armor/ATG are based on historical number when you play as Line vs Line setting.
2) All the vehicles/weapon values have been revisited.
3) Some French battlegroups have been changed.
4) The reinforce button is removed from German side with all the forcepool in German BG being doubled. So, German side player don't have to contemplate whether to reinforce.

Please note there is one thing which may or may not be include in the final release. In this beta version, the fire support of mortar barrage is changed to heavy artillery barrage and the heavy artillery barrage is changed to heavy bombers bombardment. I put it in just as it is more representative to historical events.
ie, French had better artillery support at the beginning and German had strong aerial support.

If a BG is disbanded, only the units which had been destroyed in the battle were lost. The rest of the BG's focrepool will be available when the BG shows up at the depot on the following day. This is contradictory to what the manual said though. Clearly this is one of the CCV bug.

LOL for your ATR comment Robson. Razz

Yes, those ATR are useless except against half-track. For German, the ATR can do very little against French light tanks such as R35 or H35/38/39 tanks as they have thicker armor than PzIII/IVs. Let alone heavier CharB or S-35. They may have some chance against thin armored AMR tanks but with plenty of PzII/III/IV around, you don't need ATR to deal with French tanks. The same goes for Allies' Boys ATR. I would leave them in the forcepool but if I run out of the 20 unit slots within the BG, they would likely be the first ones to go.

Good suggestion for the removal of gun pit. I need to ask either Tejszd or Dima about how to do so as it has no usage.

Just as a background information. The reason I got involved was due to my last GC. http://www.closecombat.org/forums/showthread.php?t=13734 and my suggestions http://www.closecombat.org/forums/showthread.php?t=13904.

Keeps the suggestions coming.

Thank you Kevin for your suggestion.

1. I agree with you with my own GC experience that FO is too strong and thus, it should only exist when level is green or recruit.

2. The speed of the French BG depends on which type of division it represent. I need to double check but for DCR, its speed should be slower than that of Panzer Divisions. However, for DLCs, their speed should be equal or faster than that of Panzer divisions. They were the screening force of French army with the same role as German Panzer division's recon Abt.

FYI,

Tejszd and I are making changes to Meuse mod to make it more historically accurate. Things for sure will be changed are:

1. all weapons/vehicles data will be re-visited.
2. all forcepool data will be re-visited.
3. support element changes.

and more...

PostForum: Modding Workshop   Posted: Fri Nov 30, 2007 6:01 pm   Subject: Need help about good source of German AFVs in France 1940
Hi all,

I am sure some of you can give me a good pointer/source in regards to the allocation of German AFVs (tanks, SP guns, armor cars) on May 10, 1940 France.

I do have this link http://niehorster.orbat.com/011_germany/afv-strengths/_afv_40-05-10.htm but it does not specify which type of Panzer model (say PzII A or C) within the division.

I also need to find out how the StuG III/A and PanzerJager I Abt were allocated during the same time frame.

Thanks in advance.

Give me that H39 please!!! I desperately need any tank in my Meuse GC as my CharB1 bis are being KO not only by 88mm but also by Stug, PzIV and PzIII; left and right. Right now, I have less than 10 tanks left for all the French forces combined and I have at least 8 strategy moves left!!! Very Happy

In Meuse, only CharB1-bis has good front armor(60mm), CharB1 and H39 are alright (40mm) but the rest (R series, AMR, AMC etc) are not that strong.

To be fair, there is a probability to be hit and a probability to penetrate. I would consider that H39 to be extremely lucky for not being destroyed.

I consider this mod one of the best and is very challenging for both sides. For German, you have to cross the river and race against the clock. For French, you have to manage your BG of various qualities and defend against the best Panzer BGs Germany can offer.

This mod should have its own thread in the forum.

0xc0000005 means access violation. That means the program crashed and there are error in the binaries files. I would recommend re-install the mod. Also, you can try to run CCV without mod and see if that happens. If so, your CCV files are corrupted. Anyway, re-install should fix that.
