Lots of comments have spun from the original post - some good some not so good, the truth is any of the CC series of games are great, from the modded originals to the remakes. Many of us have committed countless hours giving orders to soldiers and watching with intent as they follow them out - or not .
Whist I agree to the purest out there are issues in the re-releases but we have to remember that no software is without its bugs. At the end of the day they bring allot of new faces to our world and help the community grow.
I have to say one more thing, kudos to Mooxe, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion for keeping the site maintained (at there own expense minus donations!) all these years without there contribution we wouldn't have have this great resource.
All the best Gareth |

What dates does the 3 Commando book cover? When I was in Afghanistan we did some operations with the Royal Marine Commandos.... Thats the same Regiment right?
|
Some of the operations I have covered in the book run between 2006 & 2007, specifically; 'Operation Baaz Tsuka, Bauxite, Clay, Glacier 4; 5, Operation Herrick 5, Kendle & Knight. |

If anyone fancies a short read - something to fit on a few train or bus trips to work try - Andy Mcnab's 'Last night another soldier' it was an excellent read - all be it very short. Currently i'm reading '3 Commando Brigade' by Ewen Southby-Tailyour which i'd also reccomend - its covers some of the operations by 3 Commando in Afghanistan. |

Pretty much as the title suggests are there any mods that are in dev or have been released that cover the current Afghanistan theatre? - particularly british forces. I know the CC RAF Regiment is probably the only known mod that comes close to this - but its not publicly available to civvies. |

Not sure if this was mentioned, why dont you just enable RDP on your desktop and download one of the RDP apps from the app store. I have used iTap RDP to connect my desktop and play movies - its usable... `try one of the free apps first to see what you think. |

Personally part of the appeal of playing CC is that you can play as either the Axis or the Allies. - in the original CC A Bridge too far I ran through the Allies campaign first but I also enjoyed the Axis campaign.
With regards to installing Close Combat on your mac, I don't believe a native installation on your Mac (intel) is possible. You need to use something like VMware for Mac or some other hypervisor product that allows you to run a virtual version of windows on your Mac (this is what I do) You can also use 'Boot Camp' to dual boot OSX/Windows. |

I'm kinda of hoping its a complete remake of the A bridge too far, that was a fantastic theatre. In my opinion ABTF was a real turning point for the CC series. |

Well, I remember when I first got a copy of the demo for CC2 - It was as awesome then as it is now. South Africa didn’t get many of the common games that were released to the rest of the world I guess the market wasn’t very big then. I was in a PC shop many years ago and something "CC" caught my eye; it was close combat trilogy (CC1; CC2; CC3)- I didn’t hesitate paid 400 Rand for it. |

I'm sure you all know that when holding down the right mouse button you get topographic details on the point at which the cursor is on.
Is there a switch for having this on permanently? |

Mooxe, what version were/are you using the version currently available for download supports a larger hardware database.
Believe it or not even when running both games at the same time the clarification of sound is flawless, my sound card produces a chaotic chorus of wounded men for both instances. |
