I like playing this mod, thanks a lot, hope it works H2H (because that is so much extra fun Smile ). To be honest I stumbled on this mod accidentally, searching on anything about the amount of panzerfausts in the regular CC LSA german units. I missed them, most units do not have fausts. In my  memory in CC2 the reserve german troops (i think 4 man, all just a k98, one mp40?) had even 2 panzerfausts, what made them an interesting choice option, even though they are for other purposes of almost no combat value (panick quickly). Anyway, missed the fausts, an I thoght that there was maybe a historical reason for that (low supply of fausts? In these specific troops?), and LSA I think also mainly fields de panzerfaust 30?

Either way, I think it is more fun if there are a lot of fausts around, and I saw also the allies in this INSIS mod having a much wider range of special grenades. The gammon bomb is AT, any explanation on the other types (besides regular grenades)? Are they all for AT?

And I was just curious what were the thoughts behind the fausts in this mod Smile Okay, this thread is years old, but who know, maybe somebody replies Wink

Scnellemeyer,

Somebody commented that making these weapons fire indirectly gives you too much firepower (anywhere you want), what do you think?

At least Grille and M8 HMC to indirect firing might balance it out a bit?

Thank you Scnellemeyer!

I had it working, but just with one weapon doing indirect firing. I just forgot to make the weapon type to 'mortar' in the weapons.txt (and the at the fire direction per ammo type) and then it worked. Your double weapon is more elegant of course

Thank you so much Scellemeyer and Pete,

I tried to give different ammo different fire directions, that was my mistake apparently!

Good point with the heavy fire all over the map....I just hoped to give both sides an advantage Smile Scellemeyer also said that reload times for example are quite long for 15cm..
I just thought, what a waste of ordenance, all these artillery used in direct fire (getting destroyed like flies), while designed (and mainly used) for indirect fire...but I can get the point of that it is basically artillery units that accidently are caught up in a frontline situation and then making the best of it in direct contact with the enemy..

Maybe only modding the Grille to indirect and the M8 HMC?

Ok, cool, then I leave it like that. Just seemed weird, like an error..thanks!

The problem is already that I changed stuff in my PitF, so multiplayer is a bit impossible. It's also impossible because I just took a torrent to try this version of CC, multiplayer is not working, so it seems. Where to buy the best PitF> Wink ..because nothings better than multiplayer of course. And what mod is played, is it still played, and where do people gather? I left CC for years after CC5 (mutiplayer GJS and VetBoB)...what are the new habits?

how do I edit that my Grille, 7,5cm inf gesch.18, etc, to fire indirectly? Like Schnelleschneider was going to do. I edited the weapon in weapons file (put HE and SM to indirect fire, kept HEAT on direct fire). But in combat they don't work like mortars..they seem to work as normal....

All help welcome. Is there still somebody here?

Ben

I'm new to addeting the data in the workbook. But I think you can find it in "vehicles" (has guns data too).

Question for you: Where are those PitF mods? I can't find them here, are there other sites/places where there are mods? I have been out of it some years (but played since CC1 was in the library, on towards CC5 GJS and VetBoB Smile )

Was so hoping the rookiesound sounds from VetBOB would re-appear! (where is that mod for CC5 anyway, or is it integrated now in the VetBOB mod itself? It used to be separate). Makes the game extra extra enjoyable. Looking forward, thanks so much!

I was browsing the data workbook for PitF to recreate the weird german teams that has the leichtes mg and mp40/riflemen/etc together, while in reality it was the mg operating more indepently. Also I now had like 8 mg/rifle teams running around, which is kind of an overkill, maybe? So I want to split leichtes mg42 guys from the rifle/mp40 guys. Maybe I would like the germans to have a bit more teams in that case, but I'm supergreen with modifying the game data, but looking at the databook, I get enthusiastic :)

Anyway, I saw in the tab UNIT STRUCTURE that CLASS No 91: Infanterie BataillonsStab has no teams in it (zero!). That's weird, right? So the simple german (class 75) Infanterie Division has no command group (that actually has teams in it...it exists, just is empty). Why design it and don't use it...? And what should you put in CLASS No 91: Infanterie BataillonsStab to make it accurate?

Yours,
Ben
