Hi Guys!
I used to play all the time! I want to get back in. The difficulty was having the game installed on my replacement laptop. Last time I played was on an XP machine.... Do you guys have any pointers for installing on Windows 8.1? My replacement laptop really made installing things hard....I am on Discord: Dasaco#7752...

Hi Dad,
We are mostly using TLD and LSA mods to run the group events. Both of these games seems to run fine on modern machines/windows.
Join the discord and we can help you get set back up. |

I've been trying to create a plugin version of Meuse but since the 5.50.2b update the modswapper doesn't 'hide' the vanilla files properly which seems to cause problems |

It seems since the 5.502b update to TLD, the existing modswapper utlity no longer works properly.
It doesnt seem to 'hide' the vanilla files properly like it's supposed to according to the mod.ini file, and this causes crashes when hitting 'play game' from the main menu |

I definitely prefer the 'cc5 classic' to the TLD campaign; the latter is too short and too one-sided in favor of the allies |

You are right Tejszd
It's very odd that great features are constantly dropped from one release to the next.
You may not remember, but CC1 even has a battle replay function. It was one of the coolest things about the game
I have to agree that as far as the game engine goes, LSA is the best, because of the stacking/merging battlegroups and the ability to attack a map from multple locations simultaniously.
It's a pity that LSA is so much more difficult to mod than previous games, meaning we may never the see porting of all our favorite mods (apart from GJS) to LSA |

Drizzt your mods are truly amazing.
Just started a Kharkov TLD h2h with a friend. REALLY impressed.
I hope one day you will convert a few of them to LSA, but I know thats a lot more work..
Thanks for all your contributions to the community! |

Forum: Close Combat Last Stand Arnhem Posted: Mon Jun 08, 2020 4:53 am Subject: Re: MAJOR BUG: Supply |
Please review the images below:
The allied battle group moves around the german and cuts the line of supply to the german major depot. This works as it should and supply and ammo get the X X signs.
But when the german group moves to contest the map in between, even after the battle is finished and they do NOT have a path of VLs through the map or the exit to the supply depot map, they still receive supply + +
image 1: Shows start locations on the strat map. German BG starts on major depot image 2: German BG has moved into Elst and Allied BG moves around them into Driel, cutting supply image 3: German BG moves back into Driel attacking into into the allied occupied map, Supply is reestablished even before the battle image 4: Battle map deployment shots NO link of VLs throug the map to the depot image 5: Battle completed, supply still intact
How has this bug escaped detection for so long? |

Forum: Close Combat Last Stand Arnhem Posted: Mon Jun 08, 2020 4:49 am Subject: MAJOR BUG: Supply |
There seems to be a very serious supply/ammo bug in LSA which has currently not been reported. It doesnt seem to be present on the main list of outstanding issues compiled by Tejszd on the LSA Matrixgames forum.
BGs that have their line of supply between the BG as the deppot blocked by a contested map STILL recieve supply and ammo points each turn (signified by the + signs), even if there is no path of VLs through the contested map. The map being contested at all is enough for supply replenshment to still be received. This makes it virtually impossible to cut the supply of an enemy group. All the enemy needs to turn is move in to contest the map in between for a single turn, and supply for the supposedly cut off group is reestablshed
This is in direct contradiction to what is written in the manual about supply (see attachment). |

Hi Cathartes
Thanks for staying in touch.
Can i request also that if you release a patch for the mod, that you can confirm disbanded BG's do re-spawn at a supply depot?
In a H2H GC Allies are basically guaranteed to have quite a few BGs disbanded by the strong German divisions, if the allied groups do not re-spawn that would absolutely game-breaking.
Also might it be possible to release a list of which groups reinforce, how and when etc.?
Many thanks! |
