PostForum: Modding Workshop   Posted: Mon Dec 21, 2009 8:40 pm   Subject: Re: Maximum Resolution
Hi bandito! I'm playing CC3, CC4, CC5, CoI, WaR, TLD and Modern Tactics at 1920x1080, and have no problem. Sometimes when i load a map the game automatically lowers resolution, but then it brings it back at 1920x1080. That's the highest resolution i can use with my monitor. I've set it in the game's options, even though resolution can be set in windows' registry as well. Hope i've been useful!

I'll try to convert CC5 RSR into CCTLD RSR, but it's not so easy as I thought 1st, they changed a lot more than it seemed at the beginning, e.g. the forcepool file is complete different...

Cheers,
Zerberus

If you do it you'll be my new hero! Wink
I don't know if it can be of any help, but i've found this "BIG map pack of 28 Red Storm Rising maps" converted for CCMT. Hope it's useful! Smile

PostForum: Close Combat The Longest Day   Posted: Fri Nov 20, 2009 8:30 pm   Subject: Corrupted saved game
Hello everyone! How are you all?
I'm having a very annoying problem with TLD, patch v5.50.07 installed: i'm playing the GC, on day 9. Only one battle left to fight, i've liberated all the regions exept one. I can't play anymore, though, 'cause when i load the save it crashes to desktop. Always. Can someone tell me a trick to recover my game? Is there something that can be done?  Crying or Very sad
Thanks to anyone that will answer.

Amfreville  is the second smallest map.

Try Point du Hoc battle , the smalleest map.. see if that behaves the same.

And Bayeaux the next one up...

All the maps play on higher resolutions so I wonder what's up with your system...

I tried both the maps you told me at 1440x900, and everything went fine, then i tried again Amfreville and... got a crash to desktop.

My system:

OS: Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit with SP1
CPU: Intel Core2 Duo T7500
RAM: 4 GB DDR2
Graphic card: NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 256 MB

Hi guys! I have a CTD problem. I'm playing CC on my notebook with 1440x900 resolution. No problem till i have to play the battle in Amfreville, on the first day of the GC. After the "Allies attack" screen it crashes to desktop. I tried using 800x600, and everything went fine, but it really sucks this way! :)

EDIT: It seems to work fine with resolutions up to 1280x800. With larger resolutions it crashes to desktop loading the Amfreville map.

Can you post the error you're getting, please? If it tells you about some file look for it on CC3 folders, and if you can't find it search among the downloads here...

My problem is the game crashes when battles and campaigns are installed, so you still have a chance! Wink Give it a good look: sometimes campaigns overwrite original ones, so you might have to check all campaigns and battles. Check also the "Custom Battles" section of the game.

So... When you start the game can you see the mod's interface? If you run a battle do you have German and Russian units, or Japanese and American ones?

After fresh install you also need CCIII patch. You can find it on the DL section.
After installing that you can install mods.

And it doesnt matter where you mod manager/config manager is (I have never unzipped it into CC folder though).

Definitely right! Anyway, shouldn't it work, you can just go in the System\Paclages\Pacmod2\ sub-folder of ConfigManager, open the "install.txt" file, search the line line saying to copy elements.txt to elements.org and just delete it. It is only a backup copy the mod uses to restore old files when uninstalling the mod.

You don't have to run the mod from that folder. When you run "config51.exe" you can see two boxes: the one of the top contains the installed mods, while the one on the bottom the uninstalled ones. You have to select the mod you wish to install, then right-click on it and select "install". After a while it will be in the "installed" box. Then you simply have to run the game as usual. If you still experience any problem just ask! Smile

Hi urias! The mod manager is a tool actually called Configuration Manager: you need it to install plugins in the game. You can download it from here: http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=49 .
Just unzip the file in a folder, then copy and paste your plugins in the "Plugins" sub-folder, and then run the .exe
Please, let me know if battles and campaign ops are working for you, i have some problem with them!
