I really like the AI in TT's VetMod but I have to select either Allies or Axis vet mods to make it happen and that unbalances the game like crazy. Which files have the AI in them so I can use the changed AI without unbalancing the game to one side or the other. |

If there is a battle going on in a sector and a reinforcement battlegroup is supposed to arrive there, does it get deleted? |

May I ask why the full install is necessary? Is there a specific problem that the minimal install causes? |

Does that mean they are very limited?
I remember in Close Combat two you would often only have a few squads. |

The main reason I disliked CC5 and CC4 was the lack of unit prices.
I heard that Last Stand Arnhem puts them back in.
Do they actually limit the players? I would like it if using too many good troops would make me not be able to use them later.
CC5 had so many soldiers there was never a problem with using only elites.
Also I like it when you are too poor to fill up all the unit slots. |

So..I just got back into close comabt and I am happy that people are using Gameranger.
Anyway, the mod/map system is really confusing me, how should I set it up so that I can switch mods when I want?
Should all of my mod's maps be in the same folder?
Currently I have a separate map folder for each mod and I rename the one I want to use to "maps" when I need it, but I am getting problems.
Often when I try to start a battle I will get an error saying it can't find some random map file that isn't even for that mod.
Also the original battle files from the data folder get deleted so I can't install a new mod till I copy them in from a back up.
Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?
Thanks. |

I am playing the GJS mod and I noticed that my command squads have less soldiers in them than regular rifle squads. Is there a reason to use commanders? Are they supposed to effect morale of nearby soldiers? |

How do you change the number of units in a battlegroup's force pool?
Is there a simple way to make all battlegroups have less men?
Or do I have to edit each battlegroups numbers of each unit type? |

I guess that's right, in the last 2 days I have played the first half day of a Gold Sword Juno campaign with someone on gameranger. We only had to replay 2 battles |

I was wondering how far people have gotten in multiplayer CC5 campaign.
Isn't the network crashing after campaign battles universal? |

It's amazing how great this game would be if multiplayer was stable, with all the mods it's like playing a new game ever time I start a campaign. But it get's tiresome fighting the ai. |

I think most anyone who has played these games singleplayer would agree that the AI is extremely boring to fight, they don't seem to function as a commander.
Has anyone made an AI mod that makes the AI more effective? Is it possible?
I don't mean making their soldiers stronger, if I want a harder game I just don't bring as many men, I wonder if the AI can be made smarter.
I like playing multiplayer a lot more but every multiplayer campaign I have started begins to crash after the first five games or so.
By the way, nice mods so far I have played Gold, Sword, Juno and Scheldte. They are very impressive. |

Forum: Close Combat 5: Invasion Normandy Posted: Thu Jul 02, 2009 6:05 pm Subject: A couple questions |
Hello guys, I am new on this forum and have a couple questions about CC5.
1. What do the command circles around your squads mean/do? The circles that appear when you click space.
2. The game often crashes around 3/4 through my multiplayer battles, this started happening something like 7 or 8 battles into a campaign. Is this just something you have to live with?
3. How do you manage 2 mods? It seems you can only have 1 mod installed at a time, and some mods have mutual map names so wouldn't that mean I couldn't have both mods maps at the same time?
Any help is appreciated, I have been playing the GSJ mod and love it : ) |
