I've made updates to the sound file, and added lots of new sounds. Now far fewer weapons share the same sound effect. To hear the new sounds you need to download the new Weapons.txt file and put it in your BASE folder.

The sound effect numbers were made to coincide with those in TLD: Ground Tactics, so you can use these sounds with that mod as well. In that case, keep the Ground Tactics Weapons.txt.

Hi.

Would it be possible to make the mortar flight time something like 20 seconds, but  not have the mortar wait for the round to land before firing another one? By setting the rounds in a burst higher than one you get multiple impacts, but they all land in the exact same spot. Is there any way around this?

PostForum: The Mess   Posted: Mon Jan 30, 2012 1:22 pm   Subject: Re: Visibility
If you know exactly where the enemy squad is, and you set your machine gun to fire at it manually, how much less effective is your fire compared to being able to directly target the squad?

What sort of things affect the probability to spot a hidden squad? I assume the more squads you have watching, the better the changes are? I read that scout squads can spot well. Can you see the spotting skill, or is it some hidden attribute?

When does the game check if a squad is spotted? Is it only when the squad does something, or could you spot a squad simply by waiting and watching?

I had to leave some headroom for the big guns. The game had some issues with small arms sounding too loud and drowning out the cannons.

edit:
New version:

Weapons.txt for the new version:

I wasn't happy with the weapon sounds in Last Stand Arnhem, so I replaced almost all of them. They came out rather well so I thought I'd share them. With a few exceptions these are samples of the actual guns being fired.

The file goes in the LOCALFX folder in your LSA folder.
Let me know what you think.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
