If you have CC from GOG, I think the easiest solution to install mods is to extract Configuration manager zip into the same directory as the game. Then you don't have any issues with the registry entries. It worked for me for CC5 (Berlin mod) and CC3 (1945). Only for CC5 you have to solve issue with replacing KG Müller to KG Muller and for CC3 I had to install cc3bnocd_196.zip -> http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=45311
I had the same problem with Berlin mod. After fighting with it this morning I found out that the best option is to extract CfgV13.zip into game directory. As the CC5 Configuration Manager is looking for ./CC5.exe file. I guess this is because the wrong registry entries. You can open .pln file as a zip file. Inside install.txt file you can find, how the mods are extracted:
The only problem I had was this entry: copy $CC\Data\Ops\KG Müller $ORG\KG Müller
I had to replace it with: copy $CC\Data\Ops\KG Muller $ORG\KG Muller
Not sure why in my installation 'umlaut' was missing, perhaps it's due to the fact I have downloaded game from GOG. After it mod was installed succesfullya and I'm enjoying it now
In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
