Ok, thanks   Wink

Found it, for those who are interrested to know : Extract from page 11 of CC2Guide-TxtfMapLosRoof_v7.pdf  (include in 5CC Tool pack (folder "Manuels")

CITATION :
File format of a CC3/CC4/CC5/CCM/RtB/CoI/CCMT/(and newer) map data file:
- first line: ID, always the string "10",
- second line: can contain the map’s name,
- third line: width (in elevation tiles) followed by the string "X Max",
- forth line: height (in elevation tiles) followed by the string "Y Max",
- fifth line: weather type descriptor,
- sixth line: map name color / terrain type descriptor,
- seventh line: comment line starting with the string "Idx", followed by TAB + string "E0" +
TAB ... + TAB + "E15" + TAB + "Elev",
- eight line: data start indicator "&",
- data lines, number of data lines = width * height (counted in elevation tiles)
- last line: data end indicator "#"

(...)

CC3 introduced three additional lines: now the second line can contain the map’s full (or
abbreviated) name. But in original CC3 most maps have here an empty entry. The 5th line contains
a general map weather type descriptor, a number ranging from 0 to 4:

CC3 /COI-----------------------------CCM v3.1 / RtB / CCMT
0 = normal, --------------------- 0 = normal,
1 = light mud,  ---------------------1 = light mud,
2 = heavy mud,---------- ---------2 = heavy mud,
3 = light snow,--------------------- 3 = light snow,
4 = heavy snow. ------------------4 = desert.

If you change this number from a zero to a 3 or 4 in CC3/CoI, the units will be in winter
camouflage gear.

END OF CITATION

So, in my attached image above, the concerned 5° ligne is the red squared line

Ok, thanks. Could you give more precision about "head" of the file ?

Attached is a capture of the head of a txt map file? In the head of the file, that are more than one unic value.

Could some one say to me where is the code/parameter in maps that commands the look of the vehicules (desert, snow or "normal" (green maps) ?

I suppose that each map has this code, but where is it ?

Ok, thanks  Wink

Another heavy problem is that there is no conversion table (GTC/PITF -> to CCMT) in 5cc Tool

Finally, the conversion CC3/CC4/CC5 to CCMT is very easy and quick + really securized after resizing (to have square maps) and using conversion tables that are provided in 5ccTool (data bulk replacements function), but more difficult is the conversion GTC/PITF -> to CCMT due to :

1- Re-scaling process needed (with risk of pb with maps in CCMT) : GTC/PITF maps seems be coded in very different way than "classic" maps for CC3/CC4/CC5/CCMT
2- Lack of conversion tables GTC/PITF -> to CCMT (5CCTool was made before the release of GTC/PITF, I think).

But with the "classic" conversion (CC3/CC4/CC5-> to CCMT), we have already more than 200 maps that may be used in CCMT : I downloaded in FTP Matrix and FTP CC Series all maps of mods made for CC3/CC4/CC5 (except snow maps, I can't play with because I dont' like white for my eyes), and I have 55 Go only in maps  Rolling Eyes (97 Go for the total of all CC files)

I will use these maps to create scenarios with my generic mod when completed, and with this generic mod, I will be able to create then thematic mods (it's more easy to quick modify a generic base with few kinds of weapons (standardization) than to have to modify 100 kinds of weapons).

I plane for future times Falkland's war mod, Middle East mod, etc

CCMT is not a dead game... Razz  With adapted settings in oob ARMY and OPFOR (reduced lethality and ranges), it's  in my opinion the better opus : CC5 is a good game but I prefer highly CCMT

CITATION :
If you want to convert a map from GTC/PITF to any other CC title - the only change in this process is that you substitute 16 for 10 in textfile (See step 3)
END OF CITATION

Ok, that' what I want to try : to take a GTC map and convert it to be playable with CCMT.

If I repeat your process, with inversion (from GTC map to CCMT map), I do that :

1. Download 5CC (newest version as of writing is v1.22)

2. We will work on a copy so - Copy the map you want to modify to a seperate folder.
In my example : I take the map N° 15 from GTC, named  Map15 (I want to use this map in CCMT) : it’s a square map

3. Open (the concerned map), change the top line from 10 to 16 and save
As you said above, I do not change from 10 to 16 but from 16 to 10

4. Open 5CC and open (tne concerned map). - Pay attention to the pop-up box and note down the dimensions 5CC expected. rn5. Click "No". - You do not want to proceed.
Ok : I obtain this message : Expected 2400 x 2400  but 3840 x3840 loaded
I click “no” (as you said)

Note : You missed a step 5, but I think it has no importance

6. Open initial map (in my case : Map15), change the 16 back to 10 (Reversing step 3) - Save.
Here, explanation are not clear (for a beginner), there is a logical doubt (confusion risk)
Do I have to apply this step 6 or not ?
In other terms :
Do I have to let the map with 10 ?
Do I have to change front 10 to 16 (reverse of step 3)

If I have to apply the reverse of step 3, I think I have to change 10 back to 16. Ok, I choice to apply (in doubt, I use the process you described, but with inversion : you say that the only change in process in inversion 10/16)

7. Open 5CC and the concerned map again. Go to Actions - Set scale - Graphics scaling.
OK, no pb with that

8. Plot in the dimensions you noted down in step 4 and click scale
In my example, what I have to enter is 2400 in each box

9. A roof warning could pop up during scaling. - Click cancel this.
Ok, no pb with that

10. Go to Actions - Set scale : Change this from 5 to 8 pixels pr.meter.
Ok, I do that (but I have to say that the scale is already at 8 when I open the windows…)

11. Save

Note : I think we  would have to generate los  : if not, the program doe not generate a LOS file. But you say nothing about this, it may create confusion : do we have to generate LOS after this re-scaling  or not ?

In conclusion : when I follow th described  process, with inversion of “command”, I obtain strange results in CCMT with the converted map (Map15 from GTC).
In some cases, the map does not appears at all in CCMT editor
In some case, the map appears, but with psychadelic colors
In some case, map appears with correct colors but when I use it to build a scenario, I receive a message that say : map is corrupted.

I certainly missed something but I have to say that explanations you have given are clear only to convert from CCMT to GTC, and not clear for a beginner in the inverse process (from GTC to CCMT)
Could you please give step by step this inverse process ? => I would be able to  test to verify if it work really. In this case, I will write a specific quick guide lot of more detailed than you did here, a guide like the one I did for the resizing map guide (with very detailed steps and images for each step, and I will write separately the 2 process : from CCMT to GTC, and from GTC to CCMT), in pedagogic  vision.

I think this kind of guide will be usefull for all beginners in modding      Wink

I will integrate this guide in the futur quick guide I prepear : Guide to convert maps with 5CC TOOL and conversion tables + quick guide to explain the basic commands to operate little and minors modifications on existing maps (for example : to erase barbed vires in some places, etc = simple and basic editing operations).

This guide will have 3 parts :
1- To convert "old system maps" (from CC3,4,5) to CCMT (and reverse) with 5CC Tool and conversion tables
2- To convert "new coding system maps" from GTC/PITF to CCMT (and reverse) with 5CC Tool
3- To operate little and minor editing actions on maps with 5cc Tool

With the quick resizing guide + this new guide in 3 parts, all beginners in modding will be able to work easely in CC modding.

If guides are not made, the knowledges will be lost  and not shared, and number of CC modders will be lower each year

Searchin arab voices for CCMT, I was interrested by this IDF mod (IDF= Israelian Defense Forces)

I downloaded it but after exploring voices files with SFX tool, I saw that there are not israelian or arab voices in : only english, german, or italian, or russian voices

Curious thing for a IDF mod : if authors of this mod comes here, question for them : have I missed something about voices of this mod ?

PostForum: Modding Workshop   Posted: Tue Nov 07, 2023 7:39 pm   Subject: CC collection HTML pages (Matrix + CC Series forums)
After reading entirely all CC forums to get CC moding knowledges and CC gaming stuff, I share the html pages I collected

May be usefull for modders and players : a large collection of html pages that come from

- All Close Combat Matrix forums (general forums and modding forums)
- All Close Combat Series forums (general forums and modding forum)

All opus excepted CC2 and Bloody first are concerned : CCMT,CCM, RTB,CC5 Invasion Normandy,CC3 Russianf Front, CC4 Battle of Bulge, TLD,PITF,GTC,WAR,LSA,COI

Some are already classified (part 1), some other not yet (Part 2 - Classification will be done later, in some days)

In Matrix pages : indication of original forum and concerned  CC opus are on top of each page
In CC Series pages : same indications are at end of each page

What was the selection criterion ?
1- All important infos in threads that concern modding and scenarios making
2- Most importants things to know about gaming that are in threads

The majority of these pages are registered as "single html page" (without their eventuel attached images), but some are registered as "complete web page"

For each page, with the content text of these html pages and name of authors of posts, users will be able to find exactly the complete page directly on internet if needed :

- Using search process in CC Series or in Matrix forum
or
- Using Google
or
- following the list of post in account of users if you are logged in CC series or MATRIX forums

Link to download the collection (Mediafire account)
Link is coming in few time, Mediafire seems have very slow uploading process this day
Upload is in 2 parts :
Link to Part 1 : https://www.mediafire.com/file/7qsf8j5m6dr08sl/CC_WEB_PAGES_1.rar/file  (Classified by themes)
Link to part 2 : https://www.mediafire.com/file/xvknfr8fjed0vcv/CC_WEB_PAGES_2.rar/file   (Not yet classified - will be done)

Don't care for pubs, it's a normal thing with Mediafire. And at first acces, do not forget to click on the blue little onglet at left to open the download mediafire page : this button concerns the private policy options of Mediafire, coockies, etc)

This old site seems have had lot of interessant stuff, reading all CC forums to collect html pages (I will upload this entire html pages collection in a specific thrad in few days), I saw lot of broken links that redirect  to this page

http://www.closecombat.org

Have somebody keep some old good  CCMT stuffs of this site ? (maps, scenarios, guides, etc)

Would be interessant to get it and share it

By example, in this threads (see at the end of thread, in last post)
https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10387&t=125511

are lot of links to the concerned page, with interessant stuff. But all links are broken and the page seems dead

The version I have uploaded  is not yet complete : I have collected lot other pages after reading these last days all CC forums on Matrix and here (general forums and "modding forums" the both)

I will finish the entire collect these next days, and then I will classify all pages and upload the new complete version of html collection. I will create a specific thread for the new complete version of this html collection, to make it more easy to find on the forum. With this tool, it will be easy to re-find informations about game and modding if needed.

Unfortunatly, I saw that lot of links are broken in threads, and I saw also that lot of content posts were deleted here. But searching and searching, I think I saved a large collection of stuff usable with CCMT (maps, tools scenarios, datas, mods, exe files, html pages, infos and modding tips, etc) : My CCMT directory has actually a weight of 70 Go  Rolling Eyes

Another data question, please :

In "elements" (databook CCMT) there are col 2 to 14 concerning cover and protection

What does mean the distinction between : prone, low, medium, high ? (why 4 level for each covern, protection and hindrance ?)

Is there a kind of "scale", and the program choice randomly ? Or does it depend of a certain "range" ?

In addition : My translator gives me omething curious with "prone" : Any info about the signification of this word ?

Someone had already asked for that but received no anwser:

On this Matrix forums (ccmt forum) I found this old thread:

https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10390&t=142345

about a "expansion pack" for CCMT, that seems have been awailable in the past (2008)

Any info about this "expansion pack" (the link in the thread is broken) ?

Or perhaps, this "expansion pack" has been integrated in the recent relase of CCMT ? (last version)

EDIT : It's the correct hypothese => SchnelleMeyer said to me  that by MP : the "expansion" was the addition of British units and some patching of the game.

After you said to me that background image of a map could be exported/imported in 5CC Tool, I realized that this kind of modification was possible, and then, exploring the modding forum, I saw this thread.

I did attempts to to do the same thing to change some maps that are "green" in "desertic maps", but my own tool is just the  free "Photofiltre" and it seems it does nt allow these kind of perfect modification that you made in the image. What was your tool, please ? (paintshop pro, etc ?)
