Squadleader, the snow color slots are used only in maps that are coded as winter and then used by units that are winter equipped, but i think that on CC5 it is disabled, don't know why.

And on the surrendering soldiers, you can not see your own surrendering troops on CC5 but your enemy can. Don't know if its the same for cc4 but im sure that on cc3 and cc2 you can see both sides surrendered troops.
