First day of playing SOC for me, and I am loving it! This is much more intense than standard CC5. Actually this is more suited to me, because I am much better at defense than offense. On some maps I am under severe strain (Zybenko), others I am doing quite well Smile

For example, the text at the start of Malo Rossochka suggested it would be very rough going. However, it is amazing what a well placed Pz IV turret and PaK 40 can do Smile Within the first few minutes these two units took out 3 tanks, an artillery piece and 3 armored cars. And lived to tell the tale! Smokin'... ! Wonderful. Result: Total German victory on this map. (Short lived, no doubt).

Question: Is it my imagination or does the body count not add up? It seems to me I am seeing more casualties on screen than are credited after the battle.

One more thing: I understand the brilliant designer of SOC is not a native English speaker? If you would like help with the language of the map texts, feel free to let me know. The text is perfectly clear, but the wording is sometimes a bit "off". Please don't take offense.

Regards, Chris

Hi,

First of all, thanks for your kind comments. Enjoy this mod as I enjoyed to do it!...and personaly enjoys to play it.

Some comments:

1) Malo Rossochka. That's really a nice result, but don't believe that you will achieve such a result on each map. In CC5, chance is important and, if you are lucky, you can achieve that... and the turn after loose all your AT guns! Wait just until a few rounds and you will see that the challenge is huge!
2) Being french, I imagine that the btd texts are not really pure english! I just wanted, on each map, to describe the situation on the best way I could. If you are ready to correct the texts, please don't hesitate to do so! Just use my private EMail adress, and the corrected btd's will be included in the next version of the mod.
3) Regarding the casualties, I don't believe that there is something wrong... being an old CC player, I can tell you that you very often get this opinion... especially when your results are not so good... The only well known CC5 bug (nothing to do with SOC) is that sometimes a soldier is not rewarded after having destroyed an enemy gun or vehicle...
