I am having a gigantic problem getting files for mods that I download.
Once downloaded and in the RAR program, for the life of me I can not
figure out how to unzip/send them to my configuration manager...
somehow I changed the path that the RAR chooses and now I can not
find the right path.
**Someone please give me a step-by-step outline on how to do this.
I just can't play Battle of Berlin, and some others without the vet-mods
which I somehow deleted previously. Help please.
Why don't you just copy the RAR/Zip file to a folder...any new empty folder...and extract the RAR there.
Then copy the extracted files to the Config Manager Plugins folder.
I'll try that but I'm having problems finding the configuration manager file plus I'm not at home right now to check if I can do it that way.
I thought you just could unzip directly to the config mnger. Really I am
a computer dunce, and it is probably very simple but I need all the help
I can get .

Very simply, delete RaR from your computer and go back to zip

Hey pal. Hope you are well. Thanks, but could you explain further? Will it do it the old way for plug-ins (zip) if I just delete the RaR program?
This is what I do...
1. In "C:\Program Files", create a new folder called "Close Combat Tools" then create a new folder called "CC5" inside the "Close Combat Tools" folder.
2. Copy the "Configuration Manager" to "C:\Program Files\Close Combat Tools\CC5".
3. Right click on the zip file which contains the plug-in & right click on it. A context menu will pop-up, you'll see "WinRAR" in the list. Hover over it with your mouse pointer & select "Extract to...".
4. Extract the zip contents to "C:\Program Files\Close Combat Tools\CC5\Configuration Manager\Plugins".
5. Create a "shortcut" of Configuration Manger's "executable" file & place it in your Close Combat 5 Start menu folder or send it to the desktop.
6. Run Configuration Manager from the shortcut file.
Open "Windows Explorer" & find out where you downloaded "Configuration Manager" to. You most likely put it in "My Documents".
Location -- "C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\My Documents"
You can always do a search for it. The problem is, once you find it, you'll need to extract it contents also.
Thanks for the help! I knew I could count on you guys. :
I've got most of the ones I want now, but occaisionally one will
download the file (instead of the zip) into my plug-in file. So far
only happening with sal's vet-mods... I don't know why.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
