First up - what a great mod - beautiful maps and sprites - love it.

It's kind of getting me down though in that part way through a operation or campaign I seem to quite often get a 'Unable to deploy' error, please restart.

Is there anything I'm doing wrong - is there any way round it to continue with the campaign?

Cheers for any help?

Nickel

Hi Nickel,

sorry for the late reply. The "unable to deploy properly" error can occur from two reasons:

- the team to be deployed by the AI before battle starts (the AI will deploy for both sides, definitve position for the AI teams and a suggestion for the human teams) will not find a free area around a VL because all VictoryLocations are already blocked by opposing teams and other deployment tiles are unavailable.

In this case a modifying of the Scenario file of this battle increasing the number of VLs or modding the AlOOB/AxOOB files reducing number of teams might help.

- or the teams to be positioned on the map cannot be placed due to the terrain (vehicle teams will not be deployed on map-terrain coded as "no vehicles" or "deep water").

In this case it might help to modify the map's terrain layout around the VLs or increasing the number of VLs.

Because not all possible settings were tested during mod development it might fail in some cases. Would be great to hear more details of the bug in case it occurs always on the same map/battle. If I know map/battle, teams used, side for human selected and game difficulty I might be able to debug it.

Cheers

Mafi

Hi Mafi

Thanks for replying - sorry for the delay in getting back to you - was on holiday, and then messing with trying to set up CC5 on gamespy [aaaagh].

Where the problem happened consistently was in the Tanks at Minqar Operation, after retreating off the first two maps, my New Zealanders did stop the Axis in the Desert South of Minqar Qaim - so the game wanted to allow me to advance up to the Desert Approach map, but that was when all I got was the unable to deply message.

Hope that helps!?

Cheers

Nick

Hi Mafi,

I've got the same problem (Unable to Deploy) in the same Minqar Saim Operation, but in the third map.

I'm sure it cant't be caused by the you have said to Nickel, because both sides had enough terrain for deploy.

How can I solve the problem?

Can I continue the Grand Campaign skipping this map or that's my end?

Thanks
