I`m really about to berserk...grrrrrr....

Bought both digital and physical version of WaR - and the game won`t run because of video card problems.
It`s not the old trick with Hardware acceleration or DirectX 9.0c, because I`ve tried all that before.
When launching WaR, it says like that:
`Unable to start the program because your video card does not support at least 800x600x16 bit resolution`
But it does indeed, I know about it!
Maybe anyone of you, folks, has suggestions for it?

Videocard on my labtop (Pentium II with 366 Mhz) is:
ATI Technologies Inc. 3D Rage LT PRO AGP 2X

i have directX 9.0c for long time and it works w/o problems.

Now, this didn`t work at all. CC Starter seems to be a program not for each computer nor especially for older programs like Windows 2000 professional...but - the advice given me by you and Schrecken had curiously to be combined.
As forces got to be combined on the battlefield at CC WaR Wink
Ha!
At first I reinstalled DirectX as Schrecken said. ... Nothing!!!
Ran old dxdiag and put through the well known tests with screenplay etc. What surprised me was the fact, that DirectX 7.0 test was not successful!
On the opposite, higher versions testing caused no problems.
So in the end I just disabled the videos and put sound acceleration to the highest level possible.
And everything went just okay Razz !!! I cannot explain that, folks. It looks like real miracle. Have a nice fighting both of you Very Happy

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
