All-

Here is a link to access a sound mod I created for Wacht Am Rhein:

http://www.mediafire.com/?lzjmnhndzrn

The file is a .sfx file and to install it you must do this:

1) Go to Computer>C: Drive>Program Files>Matrix Games>CloseCombatWachtAmRhein>LocalFx

2) Copy the original Sound.sfx file to your desktop or a backup folder

3) Copy the new Sound.sfx over the original in the LocalFx file and...

You now are prepared to be blown away with realistic sounds and when soldiers die you will feel their pain.

Hello! You have missed to add a sound file to the German 20mm automatic cannon. I got a crash when I tested the sound.

Yours sincerely

I have now tested a few audio files and you have missed a few, among other things, then Panzer Faust 60.

oups ... my mistake. I saw that I've tested your audio file with vetBob 1.3 and then it will be wrong. Can you make an audio file to vetBob?

Roger5,

It's more complicated than that.
I used QClone (use the CCIII option, not CCIV for WaR data files) to figure out what weapons go with what wave files. The column listing for weapon sound does not correspond with the actual wave file number. By looking around, you'll find one of the columns that actually match the weapons to the wave files packed in the Sound.sfx (use Sfxpack to convert the .sfx file to a wave folder and vice-versa).

So, by using Qclone and .sfx you can open both VetBob and WaR weapon data files and Sound.sfx data files. From here you can change the wave file number (for instance 0003 to 0012) to match the VetBoB data files. Pack up the sounds with SFX pack and you should be able to manually convet the sounds WaR sounds to VeT BoB. It will take about an hour to do this. Hopefully you'll make some sense of this post.

DeathDealer,

This is the same file as this one right?

CC5_GJS_RD-DD_sound_v11.zip
Description: This is a Red Devil sound mod plugin version 1.1 for GJS version 4.4. The small arms sounds have ALL been sampled from recordings of the actual weapons. Some of the other sounds have been borrowed and remixed. High powered. Unzip this file to the /Config Manager/Plugin folder.

Squadleader_ID,

The GJS44 version 11 and Version 1~1 are the same. It actually should be listed as version 1.1

The WaR Realism sound mod is not the same.

Most of the WaR Realism sounds are taken from my GJS44 version 1.1 file - except the American weapons are all newly made. Some of the German weapons sounds have been changed. Still, all of the small arms are sampled from actual recordings of the weapons. I guess realism is my trademark.

I just finished a Der Ost Front version 2.0 (Close Combat Cross of Iron) sound mod which uses the same format as a base (GJS44 version 1.1) with all new Soviet small arms samples. I'll be posting that one to this site soon.

Thanks for the interest. Twisted Evil

Hi,

Tried deveral times the GJS sound mod and noticed that either some sounds do NOT exist (ie sMG 42) or others are inverted. The PIAT fires like a gun now. If you try the Sherman III, the gun fires like an MG and the MGs have no sound.
Either I'm doing something wrong or there is a real problem in the new sound.sfx file.
You can test sounds in the Battlegroup screen by clicking on any weapon image and confirm this issue.

Let me know about this.
Thanks
Clay

Clayroger-

Maybe you've downloaded the WaR -Wacht Am Rhein- sound mod and installed it in the Local FX file of CCV. The link at the beginning of this forum is for Wacht Am Rhein only. It is not compatible with CCV or GJS. If you want the GJS44 Sound mod I made, go to the downloads in this site and you will get the proper plugin.

I think there's a mixup in the files...

http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=286
  WaR_Realism_soundmod.zip New Today
Description: Created by DeathDealer of the Red Devils Close Combat Clan. All of the small arms weapon sounds are sampled from actual recordings. Also, the amount of rounds heard in a burst is equivalent to the number of rounds expended in the game. Realism is the focus of this mod- not meant for the weak minded. Not a plugin ~ so backup the original Sound.sfx file first (located in Local FX), then paste this over the original file.
Version: 1 Filesize: 34.24 MB
Added on: 20-Apr-2009 Downloads: 2

I think this is actually the GJS_Realism_sound_mod_V1~1...as it's size is 34.24MB.

The WaR Realism sound mod should be 50.07 MB (http://www.mediafire.com/?lzjmnhndzrn).

Squadleader_ID,

The Sound.sfx file posted to the downloads is the actual Wacht Am Rhein download. As a compressed (zipped) folder it is 34.2 MB, but once it is opened it is 50.0 MB. I downloaded it from CCS downloads and installed it. I found no problems.

For clarification, here are the four sound mods I've created and their access links:

1) Plugin, GJS44 version 1.0 Mod (original):
http://www.mediafire.com/?q4n4ddozw2z

2) Plugin, GJS44 version 1.1 Mod (refined):
http://www.mediafire.com/?ymii2l204nu

3) Non-Plugin, Wacht Am Rhein Realism Mod:
http://www.mediafire.com/?lzjmnhndzrn

*NEW*
4) Non-Plugin, Der Ost Front 2.0 Realism Mod (Cross of Iron):
http://www.mediafire.com/?gnelyjomyjw

~Even though this is in the WaR CCIV forum section, I wanted to add this note in terms of the DOF Sound Mod - the configuration in the weapons data file has the same sound wave file assigned for the Walter P-38/Tokarev TT33 pistols, and also the same wave file for the DShK 1938 MG/Goryunov SG43 MGs. So I had to choose one sound to represent the pistols and one sound to represent the MGs listed above. For the pistols, the actual sound is the P-38 and for the MGs the actual sound is the DShK 1938. I did not want to modify the original weapon data file. Just a side note for those wondering why those particular weapon sounds are identical.~

Have you thought of adding more sounds to your "WaR realism soundmod" in the future?. This soundmod makes WaR playable. Thanks!.  8)

Do you play Stalingrad for CC5 DD?, could you make a soundmod for it?. It badly needs one.
