What is it that determines whether you completely remove the enemy from the map, or they call a cease fire? Quite frustrating at times when one enemy battle group holds a key map that prevents any movement of other groups. Sometimes it is frustrating because it seems like I have moved across and covered most of the map ready to completely win, then all of a sudden game ends and I have to replay the map the next day. Other maps, they are completely removed allowing me to move to the next map.

I don't even understand the question.  It's up to you whether you accept their call for a cease fire, you don't have to, you can continue and wipe them out.

I am not given an option to accept or not, it goes right to the screen telling me the battle ended because the enemy force moral got too low ( I have the option checked that the battle will end when moral is low). What I want to know is what is the determining factor to when the map is completely won and the enemy force is disbanded/gone completely?

One map I will have majority of the map covered destroying most and yet they live to fight another day, another map it seems as if I hardly did any real damage and voila, they are gone.

Check the morale bar in the bottom of the screen. When it gets to yellow or red (i don't remember, because i never play with morale on), the battle ends. But I would recommend that you turn off this option when playing.

And about the force morale dropping differently, it is such that when a side loses their company/platoon leader teams, the force morale drops more severely.

But again I would recommend that you play with people online if you have the chance. And it's quite easy to get started, just check the forums. You can use gamespy, or if you have firewall issues hamachi is the best. When starting playing H2H (against people online) then you will see that almost no one uses the force morale option.

Like Crackwise says is right, most do not use morale. I do not care either way, sometime it speeds up games, sometimes it slows them down. You have another option though. Attempt to capture VLs before you decimate AI squads. This will give you a better chance of forcing them off the map completely.

Morale on is best!

The amximum number of VL's that can b lost whemorale breaks is 3

If the difference between your morale and your opponents is quite significant 3 will be lost.

If the difference is large then 2 will be lost

If the difference is small 1 will be lost.

So staying on the map will depend on whether many VL's are lost and how many were held at the time of the morale break.

eg. If 5 are held and 3  are lost with a morale break... they stay on the map.

The AI however doesnt accept a Cease fire if your BG is/has been decimated and their BG color bar is still in the green.
And if they dont attack and you have No Timer set and No Moral On you could be in for a long and boring Battle until you just rush whats left into the open to just Die and get it over with.

But like Mooxe said when you see their color bar dropping fast or into the red,try to not kill anymore and go for the VL's.
Especially there supply/exit VL.
