Been working on stuff for the command screen. This is what I have so far as appears in game. The screen on top has West chosen and the screen on the bottom has East chosen.

Hi DAK_Legion, you were inquiring about the organization of a company battlegroup? The picture below is, as best I can determine, what a US Army mechanized infantry company would look like in game terms. Each team would represent a single battlegroup team. The weapons of each team are also underneath each individual soldier.

Hope this helps.  Very Happy

Probably green would be best. The maps will be European so there is more cover and tanks aren't shooting at each other from the edges of the map.

Maps will probably be recycled. Unfortunately for us southern_land had to drop out of the mod for RL reasons. But it was for reason of good news for him so we wish him all the best.

If anyone out there is good with maps and wants to help create a modern combat mod we would welcome the assistance.

OK, thanks for the reply ...

When I saw your posts about the mod, I starting thinking too much, which is a bad fault of mine.

But for some strange reason, I came to the conclusion, that the screen art was probably already done for this project ... mod.  Confused

If true, that would really be great.  Exclamation

If not, to be honest, I am getting real burnt on all my real time stuff.

I was thinking I might fetch WITP off my back up drive, so I could remind myself what a drag strategy games can be.  Idea

Well, what I meant was, while I am waiting on you guys to finish this thing.   Arrow

To make things go quicker, maybe you guys could re-cycle the CCMT maps. They make good tank combat maps, kinda.  Idea

Just kidding  Exclamation

Sheesh  Exclamation

I almost forgot. The RSR maps are excellent for modern combat. Tanking can be fun because the maps are mostly obstructed.  Idea

You could go with 3 - 5 tanks in each battlegroup with a smallish infantry platoon (without heavy wepons).

No need for victory locations, just blaze away.

With LSA and the hex based strat map, these maps would be really cool.  Idea

Hi DAK_Legion,

I agree with you, RSR maps would be best, but is the Strat map already made  Question

To be honest, I just hope the mod works out, I probably wont get LSA either way, so I am just doing the kibutz thing, and trying to find out just what is going to be done and how far off it really is.

OPFOR names, OPFOR voices and RSR maps sound good.

I've been using United Nations graphics for West, do you think NATO would be better?

Thanks.

Excellent  Exclamation

This mod is moving very rapidly, with only 2 guys on the team too.  Wink

Screen art - check!
Maps - check!
Vehicles - check!
Voices - check!
Data - check!

Ok, so please tell us if the Strat Map is finished.  Question

Strategic map still needs to be done. There's still a lot of screen art to do as well. But we're making progress.  Very Happy

OK, well thanks for being so patient.

But I do have a passing interest, since I really like modern stuff on CC games.

But I am wondering, what is so magical about LSA. I am not really indicating any "platform" preference. I just thought you might have an idea, why LSA would be a good home for this conversion.  Question

I am not altogether sure, but I think CCMT has been converted to WAR and TLD.

Also, me thinks, RSR has already been converted to CCMT. Kinda odd.

Wouldn't it be better to just wait for PitF and convert then. Just wondering.  Question

CCMT Converted to TLD

CCMT Converted to WAR

RSR Converted to CCMT

Strategic Map 0%

Maybe I can a Mini-Stratmap.

Yes Stwa!

CCMT-WAR FINISHED
CCMT-TLD STOPPED
CCMT-RSR FINISHED

The only reason we have chosen LSA.......There is no reason....Gary said...LSA...OK!..Forward;)

when I see PITF maybe I do a Modern Base based in CCMT..Because CCMTII never see the light Wink  Wink

Hi DAK_Legion,

Which vehicle set are you using. Is it RSR, CCMT, or something altogether different.  Question

If this is just going to be a redo of RSR, then just use its strat map, and be done with things chop chop. Otherwise, just wait for PitF.  Idea

You know, unless something really radical changes with these new CC games, I am thinking CCMT is my last game. A good ending point for the 2D stuff, IMHO.  Wink

The reason we are using LSA is because you can stack battlegroups in LSA which might be better for a hex based map. I'm not sure of the scale in RSR but this mod is using 1 battlegroup = 1 company and a hex based map. Those will probably be the key difference between this and most other mods.
