is anyone else finding it aggravating that enemy with direct fire remain hidden from your LOS?
i.e. you are advancing and an enemy MG opens up on you! death reigns in and your men are dieing. but you cannot see where it is coming from EVEN WHEN IT IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. you have to get close to your target to acquire LOS. this is SO unrealistic. I have been playing SAS for one week and am liking the mods and sounds but the LOS is p****** ** ***.
the other mods and original game have much better LOS. meaning if it is engaging you with DIRECT fire then you get to see where it is,very real world Methinks.
I am not talking about long range here folks many times it is very close and yet you cannot see exact position.

Do you mean that you cannot see the muzzle flashes and tracers from enemy fire, or that you can't get visual (target) on the enemy?
If I cannot get a target then I look for the muzzle flashes and tracers and lay heavy fire on the area where the muzzle flashes are comming from.
Nothing a few 5cm rounds can't suppress. And that willl also usually quickly result in a visual (target) on the enemy position once they're rattled.

Thank you PZT;
actually your method is about the only way you can fight back in many instances. direct fire at suspected enemy locations. following tracers and flashes. my experience to CC is not new, having played CC 2,3,5 and mods to 5! in all mods but SAS3.5 when you are engaged with DIRECT fire from an enemy unit it will' eventually' appear to you,IF you return fire or set unit on defend. Direct fire equals LOS. in SAS 3.5 I am finding MANY units remain out of LOS while engaging you with DIRECT fire. I am just curious if others are experiencing this same situation ?
we wil discuss the overpowered ostruppen later Smile

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
