Fantastic!!! My hats off to you Drizzt. I played for about five hours the other night as part of my job as security guard where these CC games go a long way to keep me awake and alert the long nights over the weekends that I work. So I get many hours of play to really check out these mods. I can tell already that this Kharkov mod is going to be very competitive and exciting as the German player, which I almost always choose to be. I have already discovered that I need to be very careful in any withdrawals as I could open a literal Russian horde floodgate through my lines. I am going to thoroughly enjoy this as I do with the mods that I am able to get to work properly. Yes, it is great to get back to the Russian Front.

After playing Kharkov against the AI for a while and loving it, I decided to try something different. I was noticing that some of the gamers were complaining about fighting in the same battlefields over and over again in certain games, myself included. So, in response I decided as the Germans to make what I call a "Fighting Withdrawal" all the way back to Kharkov, or at least as far as I could make it with my starting forces. It made for a more exciting game and gave me more experience in having to fight back to my original starting positions.

By the way Drizzt, how far is 10km in the game that you say the Germans were driven back?

About your first guess it has happened to me with every mod (CC5 and TLD-WAR) played: it's normal. Simply, 15 teams vs 15 teams against IA means that every player will fight in the same maps for many turns (moreover the IA in stratmap never uses the tactical withdraw).
About kms I suggest to you to use google maps to find every single location (there are some namesake villages in the zone: be sure to find the right places considering Kharkov city position), than to use a web program to find the exact distance between locations (hoping it includes all small villages in its database): in this way you will have the exact idea about distances. Best solution it's to have and/or to find a detailed route map. In another words, I can't help about this thing.

I only asked it since you mentioned that the Germans were driven back 10km on the first day. I assume it might be only a village or two to make that much distance.

Now it's clear. Map details words in stratmap screen are not my words: I don't remember where I have taken them some years ago (CC5 Kharkov v 1.0). This fact doesn't mean that these words are not true, it just means that I don't know the details of this 10 kilometres withdraw (so I don't know which small or big village germans have reached).
