So i'm running the original game (CC5) no modding yet on windows 8. it runs well except for rare moments, and they seem to be occurring more and more lately, that during combat the screen freezes except for the message center at the bottom right. The game still goes on because i can hear the action, and at the end of the game timer it goes to the end battle screen like normal and everything is ok, until the next time the glitch happens. So far i can't tell what triggers this but I'd really appreciate anybodies help on this.

Have you tried right clicking on the cc5 .exe > properties > and run in windows 7 compatibility mode and run as administrator ticked? What version of cc5 do you have?
