I'm Close Combat fan from long time, but also I liked to play World of Tanks, and I noticed in that second game Grille is an artillery, so why I can't use it in this way in Close Combat? I think it was purpose to stay hidden behind something and shot in the sky as mortar.

Yes.It can be made but you must set the main weapon as a mortar. Probably it is faster if you make a mortar weapon as the grille main weapon.

Hi Luker,

JFYI, to see how it can be done in CC2 you can take a look into the vehicle and weapon data of my mini-mod „CC2TheSturmtigerPatch.zip“ at http://closecombat2.npage.de/guidelist.html

Cheers

Grille was meant to be direct fire support system for PzGrenadiere.

Yeah I agree it should be used non LOS as well. Sure it is an infantry support howitzer but that doesn't mean it can't be used as artillery as well. A programmer would just probably tie in the mortar firing program to it but with grille shells as a round instead. Then you would have to see what the minimum firing range arc is for it etc.

Hey bud. I also play WOT, and I understand what you are asking. No, it cannot be used in indirect fire mode. The concept is that because its truly a long range gun, at least within the confines of Close Combat, it wouldn't even meet it's minimum firing range at the edge of the map.

So its only used as a direct fire weapon. World of Tanks, as we both know, is a little more towards the arcade style, so it only makes sense to use it as indirect within that game.

The other guys are explaining how you can mod the game to allow it to fire without having to see its target. Oh and Dima is making this whole discussion pointless, which I'll also have to look into because he didn't provide links!! ; )
------

That being said, I'm definitely going to check out what Firefox and Mafi were talking about. Hey Mafi, any more plans for CC2??????

Thanks for all the answers. I don't want to change any configuration, I like how it is, I was just curious, I don't want to change any game balance. During real war this gun was mostly used in the way as Close Combat (direct), yes?

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
