I remember one guy in particular, he was one of the close combat stars back then, his name was HUNTER I believe, I only beat him once, man was that an ego buster for the guy, LOL he reminded me of the Red Baron, he set up the games to benefit himself immensely. Another guy was named AB something ,I think he was Australian or Canadian cant remember, ohh the internet Lag was Horrible back then, game was so fun though. You could make your own room and tittle it and wait for someone to enter. Cracked me up.

Yep remember that room being choked full,  like the screen shot.Actually the game room was configured a little bit differently than that one when I first started in 95. Yobobo, was another guy that was ranked pretty high on the ladder. Fun times

Nice pic Brake and great for remembering old names/clan members. KG Early stopped playing CC years ago and had plum forgotten about Brandy. That screenshot must be from the early days of CC3. KG 'Schreck is still around on the KG forums, though don't think he's cc'ing any longer.

Hi Guys!

Thought I would chime in here. I had done a search to see what the new CC was looking like and I saw this forum and a mention of the zone. I used to play on there extensively under this name. Not sure if there are any from that time period but it was a blast. Was playing CC2 at the time and heavy on cases ladder. Knew Hunter and Yobobo as well as SS_Sturm SS_Collins. and many others.

Anyhow was wondering if you can play CC like you used to on any of the new series by matrix? On a Bridge Too Far we used to be able to buy our own units right before game and was not required to create a specific scenario. Is this still possible?

thanks

SSPL

I didn't stick around long for very long with CC3 I was a CC2 fanatic and didn't care for what they did when the went to 3. I was constantly battling on Cases for CC2 though.

For some reason I am thinking Mouse was spelled Maus but I am be confusing him with the tank. There was definitly a Mouse/Maus tho I remember playing him alot.
Were you there in CC2 as well? If so what name were you playing under? All these guys were there for CC2 that you have named so far. They were as die hard as I was. There was another guy that was pretty good too he took the name from the ASL game LT something but for the life of me can't remember it at the moment. There were a lot of good players vying for the top. Unfortunately real life got in the way and I lost contact with a lot of really great people. Yobobo showed up a bit later when I was playing Combat Mission but then RL got in the way again and I lost contact again.  I have a screenshot i printed a hardcopy of somewhere showing my on Cases - was proud of that moment it was very hard work for a game Razz  Wish I had the file still its probably buried on a hard drive in  a parts box somewhere.

Hmmn not sure if this is the same. In CC2 BTF we were able to buy individual units. It was sooo much fun. Trying to out think you opponent at the buy screen was one of the things that made CC2 the best of the series for most I knew. Can this be done with a mod? How extensive are the mod tools for the series by matrix? I am tempted to pick up another copy of CC2 at least for LAN play.

I started of Playing AOE until I found CC2. Went by KingMarcus to start with and then changed the name in the zone for CC2 a lot of folks still called me by King or Marcus that and SSPL.  I played this game until the cd was nearly unusable ;P There was such a large community may have played you at some point and just not remembering. Only ones I remember were the ones I spoke to most often or battled for the top of the ladder ;P  Hunter used to work for Costco if I remember right. Yobobo was in Canada. For the life of me I can't remember all the names of the ppl I talked to most. There were some really great people playing that game. Miss the zone tremendously nothing has ever compared for me.

WoW you really new these guys well, I was too busy getting a Mud hole stomped in me by these guys to find out what their occupations were. LOL. I discovered CC2 before I had a chance to try AOE,the rest was history. It was a serious addiction, I was never home sick from work so much in my life.Smile Do you remember the personalized rooms you could label, then wait for someone to come in them from out of the forum area on the lower part of screen?Cant remember if that was more towards CC3 time or before.Yep Very cool times. The super sniper on CC2 was some of the funniest shit I ever saw! Guy was loaded up on PCP I swear, he would take out alot of people, hand to hand as well if I remember correctly.
