"Still wearing their boots and helmets, and carrying their weapons, the bodies of German soldiers who died in the Battle of the Seelow Heights have finally been unearthed."

Those poor buggers wore the mother of artillery barrages.... 16,934 Mortars & guns.

'We want to restore people to their name, which was taken from them over 60 years ago.

'We are not looking for soldiers of the Wehrmacht, not for U.S. GI's, Marines, soldiers of the red army or Polish Military - not for infantry, soldiers, sailors or airmen - not for Good or Bad.

'We are looking for people - Sons, Fathers, Brothers.

'Fallen soldiers are also victims - victims of a gruesome war, which they had not caused and had not wanted.'

You can only have respect for that, thanks for sharing.

Here is a link to the association for the recovery of the fallen most of their work is in eastern europe.

All volunteers, they do an amazing job of trying to trace the family's.

No small clue is over looked, no sides taken.

A joint effort to give the fallen the dignity they deserve.

Very interesting.

Must have been like being in hell on Earth during that tremendous barrage for them.

That poor guy whose only recognizable body part left is a lower leg Shocked .

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
