Hello,

Using 5CC map editor, i woud like to set tiles where vehicles cannot be placed/move. In the present case, it's mountain slope flan. Only soldiers should be able to move in this tiles. I use 1.024 Steep slope, but soldier are very, very slow on it. On my map, they sould be able to move nearly normally (like 2/3 of normal speed).

Wich element tile can i use ?

There is no terrain element that prevents only the placement of vehicles. The element 'Steep Slope' has a soldier movement cost of 150 tenths of a second (=15 seconds). See columns R, S, & T in the Elements.txt file. If you would like soldiers to move faster in Steep Slope terrain (eg. 2/3 normal speed) then edit 150 to ~39, 21, 19 in those columns. Keep in mind that a soldiers movement speed will be affected by elevation changes as well as element movement values.

I will do that thank's. So when we change values in Elements.txt, these values are keep in the game (i was not sure about that).

Additional question: If there is no terrain element that prevent vehicles placement, how Steep Slope do the trick ? Change R, S, & T columns will not change that ?

All changes to game files are used in-game. Except in cases where the changed data isnt used at all-  eg. some of the sections in Campaign.txt like "# Battle group 'base' battle plans:"

Steep slope prevent vehicle movement by using a movement value of 0 in columns U, V, W, X & Y. (Vehicle Move Pushed, Vehicle Move Truck, Vehicle Move Arm Car, Vehicle Move Halftrack, Vehicle Move Tracked). Refer to the Data workbook for these explanatory column headers not found in the data/base files.

Hmm, i edited line with Grass field values for test:

And make a "save as" on my map. Soldier are still very slow. I replaced Steep Slope tiles by Sand tiles to check if i have a problem with saving my map, soldier move fast.
Note, i'm editing a GTC map, so i edit "CCGtCElements.txt" file. I'm doing it right ? Maybe i have to use a 5CC option to "generate" something ?

Edit column B (Height of element in 1/2m.  Range = 0 - 255). The height value for Steep Slope is 24 (=12m) where the height value for Grass Field is 1 (=.5m).

Erf, still not working. If i edit the second column (where Steep Slope value is 24) into 1, it is breaking editor (element 24 is uknown).
I see what columns names are:

So i edit the third column (and thourth just to test) with Grass field values. Not working to :/

It seems you are editing the 5CC CCGTCElements.txt file. You need to edit the/Data/Base/Elements.txt file in the game directory.

didn't SL make a brick or something element in PITF to keep vehicles away from buidings?

In GJS ... the element is courtyard

The Courtyard element in GJS works the same way Steep Slope does by making vehicle movement rates 0. Guns can still move thru Courtyard since the movement rate for Vehicle-Pushed is 1.
