Hey Guys,

I have a bit of an issue concerning Strat Edit. I've tried to open the program on my pc but somehow it won't start it just briefly shows a MSDOS window and then shuts down again. Has anyone a suggestion what might be wrong. I've noticed that the last changed date is 23 august 2001. It worked perfectly last time I've used it on Windows 7. I've also tried to use it on Windows Vista and Windows XP and use a compatibillity mode's. But so far nothing has worked.

Same problem in windows 10
A CMD box appears for a second stating:
"Unable to start the application. The microsoft virtual machine cannot be found"

Anybody got the stratedit tool working in windows 10?

What needs to be installed to get this running?

I could only get it to run on my old Windows XP computer, not W7 and not W10.

I've tried running it in oracle virtualbox with a windows xp install (wich is free to download by the way).
Same problem.

You might try installing one of the old MSJVM versions here in the Downloads section

installed both in windows 10 same problem

Installed both in oracle VB windows XP install, program loads but when i click file open i get following error message:

com.ms.wfc.io.EOFExeption: Unexpected end of file

That error mssg has some previous user  experience.. Looks like youve got a boss battle on your hands. Good luck
