Hi all,

Before the summer of 2019 I started work on a conversion of our CC5 mod Battle of the Scheldt to Cross of Iron. The mod was 90% done when in October I lost the HDD with the most recent work on it. No, I did not make frequent back ups. Repeated attempts to retrieve data from the disk were fruitless. I learned my lesson and I am now syncing my Close Combat game folders to the cloud.
I finally started work on the mod again this month. I am yet to look into how much of the maps I have to redo.
The big CC5 maps were cut into sometimes as many as 4 smaller maps. In the end I had over 70 maps for this converted mod, a tremendous amount of work. All of these maps have battles and operations to be made for from scratch. So please bear with me a while longer.

Quick update: turns out that I have to review all maps and update coding and redo a handful (convert and resize). I am almost halfway through the maps atm.

Update: The mod is nearly done, needs a final review of data and maps and needs additional custom battles. I intend to make two versions of the battles: one for single player and one for multiplayer.
Schnellemeyer has joined me in completing this mod.

Update: The mod is ready to be shared. I am releasing the files for manual install until we have made a plugin file.
The mod files can be downloaded from here:
Link

The mod comes with dozens of battles and Ops. There is no Grand Campaign at this point, this will be provided with the plugin.
There are 50 maps that are new to Cross of Iron.
I'd appreciate a little feedback and welcome reports of bugs or flaws.

Thanks,

Pete

It is possible a conversion of this mod to WaR, TLD or LSA?

Sure it's possible. What is stopping you from doing it yourself?

Ignorance. I don't know how to do it.

Tejszd has written a guide how to convert CC5 to TLD years ago. I am sure it is somewhere here on these forums or in the download section.
As for myself: I am busy enough with other things to know that I won't be converting to anything else than COI.

Hi Pete!

Seems progress is going quite smoothly!

Are you going to release a plugin file for the whole mod soon?

Hi Buuface,

I got 'a guy' to make the plugin file for me. The updated files will be the last beta version before the plugin is published unless a big issues turns up that requires additional work. So, the files in the onedrive folder will also be used in the plugin.

The plug-in file is done. Once Mooxe has added it to the download section I will post release notes. In the meantime you can download the plug-in and mappack here: Scheldt for COI

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
