There seems to be a very serious supply/ammo bug in LSA which has currently not been reported. It doesnt seem to be present on the main list of outstanding issues compiled by Tejszd on the LSA Matrixgames forum.

BGs that have their line of supply between the BG as the deppot blocked by a contested map STILL recieve supply and ammo points each turn (signified by the + signs), even if there is no path of VLs through the contested map. The map being contested at all is enough for supply replenshment to still be received. This makes it virtually impossible to cut the supply of an enemy group. All the enemy needs to turn is move in to contest the map in between for a single turn, and supply for the supposedly cut off group is reestablshed

This is in direct contradiction to what is written in the manual about supply (see attachment).

Please review the images below:

The allied battle group moves around the german and cuts the line of supply to the german major depot. This works as it should and supply and ammo get the X X signs.

But when the german group moves to contest the map in between, even after the battle is finished and they do NOT have a path of VLs through the map or the exit to the supply depot map, they still receive supply  + +

image 1: Shows start locations on the strat map. German BG starts on major depot
image 2: German BG has moved into Elst and Allied BG moves around them into Driel, cutting supply
image 3: German BG moves back into Driel attacking into into the allied occupied map, Supply is reestablished even before the battle
image 4: Battle map deployment shots NO link of VLs throug the map to the depot
image 5: Battle completed, supply still intact

How has this bug escaped detection for so long?

The strat layer supply path is doing what the manual states; the BG is receiving supplies from a friendly dump that it can trace a path thru friendly uncontested territory on the strat layer. The contested map does/would prevent a German BG in Elst from getting supply.

Having said that I agree with you based on the VL ownership on the contested map the 280 Stug Bde should not be getting supplies. Unfortunately, while I would like VL ownership affecting supply for H2H, I do not think the AI properly takes supply lines into account when doing strategic or tactical movements. You could add it as a bug and or enhancement request in the Matrix forum but do not hold your breath waiting for them to fix/work on LSA....

in Previous games, if you took the road VL to the supply in the battle map, the supply did get cut.

Steve responded on the Matrix Forum;

It's working as intended but the manual isn't clear.

Supply is able to flow off the depot and onto the contested map since the depot map is under Axis control and the VLs leading out of it are also under Axis control. If the Allied BG in your test had taken the depot map first them moved south the StuG brigade would be out of supply.

Once the supply reaches a map the map is 'in supply.' The only case where a BG can be 'cut off' while on a map that is in-supply is if they're on the wrong side of a major river.

If TLD/WAR worked based on the individual entry/exit VL ownership than it sounds like a step backwards. Anyone agree that supply could sneak thru and that the bridge makes more sense as the break in a supply line?

We have tested this in-game that if a German unit was present in Elst, it would also be in supply, tracing it through a contested map.

Document it and post it over at Matrix. They said it was fixed long time ago.
