Hello everyone,

I wanted to install mods for Close Combat The Longest day (in the Meuse and Tunisia) but every time I click on "Play Game" I have this error message that appears before the game goes out. I really do not understand why I have this mistake, so I just ask for help here.

I'm sorry if there is anything incomprehensible, I am francophone and can not speak English.

In any case, thank you in advance for your help Wink

What version of TLD are you installing to?
What OS and version?
What language is your OS and game?

From some reason it is not finding the Battles, Ops or Campaigns folders and the files in those folders it seems.

Check if they are located here; \Matrix Games\Close Combat The Longest Day\Mod_Meuse_v3.5\Data

Folamour/lohtse, did you ever get the mod working?

Where there files located in the following directories?

\Matrix Games\Close Combat The Longest Day\Mod_Meuse_v3.5\Data\Battles
- 20 battles ex. "May11 Bouillon"

\Matrix Games\Close Combat The Longest Day\Mod_Meuse_v3.5\Data\Campaign
- 6 campaign files. ex. "May12-19 The Ardennes"

\Matrix Games\Close Combat The Longest Day\Mod_Meuse_v3.5\Data\Ops
- 1 Operation "May15-16 Flavion"

Hi all,

i have the same error as described above by the other guys.

Muese has installed correctly but i do not install TLD in the default directory the game suggests. I have another disk/path for games.

The path is D:\Games\Close Combat The Longest Day

Inside there i can see the Muese Plugin directory which seems ok

Original TLD plays ok.

Is there a solution for this or should i reinstall in the default path ?

Thank you for your time reading this.

Regards.

It shouldn't be a path issue as my TLD is installed on a D: drive.

My OS is Win10.

Are the battles/ops and campaign files located in the directories indicated above?

Another thing to check is that Matrix copied/moved a couple directories from under TLD to the users\documents;

First to here;
C:\Users\[Name]\Documents\CloseCombatTheLongestDay\Save
C:\Users\[Name]\Documents\CloseCombatTheLongestDay\Temp

Then later to here;
C:\Users\[Name]\Documents\My Games\CloseCombatTheLongestDay\Mods\Mod_Meuse_v3.51\Games\Battles
C:\Users\[Name]\Documents\My Games\CloseCombatTheLongestDay\Mods\Mod_Meuse_v3.51\Games\Save
C:\Users\[Name]\Documents\My Games\CloseCombatTheLongestDay\Games\Battles
C:\Users\[Name]\Documents\My Games\CloseCombatTheLongestDay\Games\Save
C:\Users\[Name]\Documents\My Games\CloseCombatTheLongestDay\Temp

Check that they exist/were created by the TLD patches as maybe without them you get the same error as missing the battles/Ops/GC

There is nothing in C:\Users\[Name]\Documents\My Games\CloseCombatTheLongestDay\
The files are at D:\Games\Close Combat The Longest Day\Mod_Meuse\Data   etc.
My os is windows 10. TLD ver is 5.50 (maybe this is the problem).

The files positions in the attached .doc file.

Thank you for your concern.

Grab the latest TLD patch; CloseCombatTheLongestDay-UpdateComp-v5.50.32.exe
- it adds UI scaling which is great if you have a higher resolution monitor
- you also can scale everything if you use the Windows10 DPI setting

Before you apply it make a backup/copy of the CC5Classic sub directory as they remove the legacy CC5 campaign/strat map as part of the install. Probably because they have a deal with Gog to sell CC5.

Note: you need Meuse v3.52 if you want to change scaling options when the mod is running otherwise you must start the stock TLD
