Ensure your base LSA is patched to version 6.00.02.

Notes to the Rhineland update 7 March 2021:

Minor updates in forcepools. Changes in unit counts in Axis battle groups.
Allocated Stug III and StuH to 7. FJD battle groups.
Updated error where some battle groups did not get tanks allotted.
KG 11 Pz.Div. turns Armored BG on turn 12 and gets an allotment of Panthers.
Updated formations file and battle groups file to update the formation number of battle groups.
Updated ammo count MG42 in FsJ. inf.groups (reduced from 1050 to 350).
Increased number of Panthers in some battle groups.
116 Pz.Div. battle groups: moved armor to support platoon.
Increased effectiveness of the snipers (thanks to Schnellemeyer). Note: sniper rifles have a burst of 3 rounds.
Decreased effectiveness of mortars somewhat.

Updated btd's of most maps: some deployment zones have been repositioned.
Stratmap connections have been restored or added where necessary.
Stratmap arrows have been updated (thanks to Schnellemeyer for taking care of this) - new stratmap.txt file and ScrnGadg file required.
Stratmap: removed naval artillery support for sides attacking maps with supply depots.

Campaign: created compact multiplayer campaign of 14 days, with US BG's entering on day 8 and with Axis static BG's along US front. This is semi-historical and offers the Axis side 14 turns to defeat the Commonwealth forces before they are overrun with US armored battle groups in the south. The Allied player will be outnumbered for more than half of the campaign. This will make for a more challenging campaign for the Allies.

Not fixed: map coding, visibility bug, unbalanced sides, some icons, vulnerability of some guns to mortars and a few other things.

Many thanks to Argilas for taking the trouble of playing the GC and making notes of every error or bug he encountered. Only some of them have been addressed in this update.
Many thanks also because of him bringing the mod to renewed attention in the community and motivating me to renew work on the mod.
Finally a big thanks to Schnellemeyer for his support, technical advice, his sniper and mortar data sets and fixing the stratmap arrows!

Hope you enjoy the update and the upcoming campaign.

Pete

Rhineland '45 beta mod for Close Combat Last Stand Arnhem.

Make sure the last version of CC LSA is installed: 5.60.53

The mod is in a playable beta state. It is beta because the forcepools have not been completely to my liking and some data may need tweaking.

The Rhineland '45 mod depicts Operations Veritable and Blockbuster in the northern sector, fought by the British and Canadians and opereation Grenade, fought by the American forces.

The beta comes with dozens of battle, operations and campaigns. Currently they are not specifically designed as multiplayer or singleplayer.

Data, sounds, battles, btd's: Pete
Maps, graphics, stratmap: Buck_Compton.

Feel free to leave your comments at the closecombatseries.net forum : http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewforum&f=95 or on our FB page: https://www.facebook.com/buckandpete/

Enjoy!

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
