PostPosted: Thu Sep 26, 2019 10:25 pm Post subject: CCMT on COI Reply with quote

I have tried my hand at modding COI by converting CCMT data and graphics so we can have OPS and campaigns with modern equipment. Something that is not possible on the CCMT platform.
The thought is that this will be a pure conversion of CCMT without any data or graphics upgrades, except what is absolutely necessary to make it work in COI.

It has been a challenge to get this project to the point where it is now. Data does not merely "convert" and COI is the most sensitive of the newer CC games for data errors. - Meaning the the slightest number off will cause a crash and the need for searching for the error.
I also had the doubtful pleasure of finding some errors that are present in the current COI workbook.

The status as of now is that the mod is playable with infantry and vehicle teams. All vehicles are currently using COI vehicle graphics as the CCMT vehicle graphics and shadows still need to be converted and imported.
Some icon and gadget graphics work left, I really want to update the user interface screens and some screen gadgets, but this can be a time sucker...
Soldier colours - I dont think I will be bothered trying to edit those in the .exe of COI.. - Or is there another way to edit uniform colours of COI?

By the way:
If anyone would volunteer to cut and convert CCMT maps to COI coding that would be great!

I really could not keep the stock COI interface... It just looks dated and of course its does not fit the theme.

There are still some buttons and other gadgets to modify so these are obviously WIP shots.

Anyone know where this screen gadget is located in the files?  - I already checked Gadget1 where all other inbattle gadgets are located and its not there.

I choose to update the old uniform colours of CCMT for the conversion of CCMT to COI. I came up with the colours by averaging the values taken from photos of the real-life patterns. Then it was a matter of trial and error with editing the colours using CplFilth's Soldier colour editor on a CC3 .exe file, before hex editing it over to a COI . exe file. - The hex editing was a simple copy and paste operation really.
