Can you have a series of battles of multiple turns/days on one map...with with mounting carnage, wrecks, shellholes, rubble etc as the campaign progresses?

Fighting over and over again on the same map, IMHO, is a flaw in the CC5 campaign system, and this flaw has mostly been eliminated in a CCMT campaign game.

I love this flaw in the CC5 campaign system!  But that's just me...

About creating junkyards, that never happens vs human opponents.

---

The beauty of the CC campaign is the continuation on the same map, as in; we start out from where the game ended last turn. This makes the game feel like we are running it continuous, with small pauses just to feed more reinforcements from the BG pool.

[Talking about Gary Childress's boring idea], we may in a CC5 style GC just take one VL in each battle, but there are many VL in the map, and the defender never knows where we are focus our forces. The defender has to use a elastic deploy, so he can move the units to where the fight will be. Ohhh, isn’t CC campaign awesome..

Just a single or few VL will make the tactical aspect of the game boring, everyone knows what VL we will fight for and no shrewdness will be needed. No demand on elastic defence. Boring.

It was a partial show stopper for moi, but for several reasons. One, you could spend one entire battle trying to control a specific area of the map, and then the system would boot you out of that area for a subsequent battle, and give you another totally random deployment. Boring. Very boring.

I'm beginning to wonder if we're playing the same game?  Confused

Another NOOB jab at this...
I'm guessing that you also hate the Strategic Layer (Strat Map) feature, right?
Sure it's simplified and abstract...but the strategic layer played on the strat map is a mini game on it's own...and ideal for representing the bigger picture in campaigns and ops.
The strat map is another 'flaw' in the CC4-CC5 system that the CCMT system lacks.
