We started in 2010 or maybe it was 2009? Unfinished campaign, we parted ways in 2011. I was Allies. Serk was pretty sure he could not win but was enjoying the defensive fighting. If Serk returns to CC I hope we continue.

My strategy has been to purposely go around units and cut off German battle groups. The Allied battle groups which are behind enemy lines blocking supply are in some cases only holding onto a corner of the map with no intentions to break out.

The campaign is certainly not decided yet. I have not been able to enter Caen yet as its surrounded by armoured battle groups and elite infantry. I have broken through the flanks but have sacrificed supply to do so. The center has the classic panther vs firefly battles.

Nice. Seems the germans are on a tight spot.

It is obvious that to continue the campaign does not make sense.

No one (except me) does not see the possibilities of Germans to win in CC5 TRSM (now TLD Battle for Caen). Even Dima. This is the price of realism.

If you look at the save game file, the Allies are in some bad positions on a few maps. There is definitely an opportunity for the Germans to go back to a minor victory and stay there for a couple days.

Are you looking for a replacement enemy?

Thanks for the AAR.  Cool

Yeah, that would be fun.

Atleast you wouldnt have to start a GC from scratch!

Place CC5 on the ash heap of history.
How many aborted campaigns and how many players are gone from the game due to CC5 crashes and bugs?

Now almost all mods moved to TLD.
And innovated TRSM (BfC) is revolutionary mod for game. TRSM out of date.

So once you have the experience you need to fight me  Smile

Cheers, nikin.

And where does this people playing TLD gather to play?

Well I don't think aborted campaigns due to bugs comes even close to the number of aborted campaigns due to the amount of time they take.

My biggest problem playing anything BETA is changes that come after a GC is started.

After version 0.92 Battle for Caen is not BETA. The finished project and tested in game. I can assure compatibility with future versions.

Cheers, nikin

Serk is a great guy, played several full GCs with him, haven't seen him in years other than a brief pop-in here and there. I think you got this one wrapped up. imho impossible for germans to win after allied break out unless allies do something wrong. Allied weight of numbers is too great. They can hold out for a good long while but in overall terms they lose the GC if allies manage a break out like you have. Even if they do disband you a few times and/or push back a little. I'd be happy to have another GJS round with you if you're interested. I remain undefeated as germans, I'd be happy to avenge Serk! Wink

I think our other gjsGC was only time I've surrendered as allies. I still think I did that too soon, should have settled in for war of attrition but got frustrated at inability to blitz you like I do to almost everyone else! Smile

Hi Mik,

It TLD version, it's much harder for the allies as to achieve even a minor victory they need to control maps around Caen and most of maps west of Caen to get a major victory.
No more minor victory for the allies when they control only first 3-4 rows, so they have to push west constantly.

Hey Dima :)

Do you mean *in* TLD version? mooxe's game started in 2009. Been meaning to try TLD-TRSM for a while, just not playing much of late. With you at the helm I'm sure it's epic!
Actually in my above post I thought they were playing GJS but no doubt you'd agree what I said goes doubly for CC5-TRSM.

Serk and I were actually playing CC5-TRSM GC around same time as this AAR and he was heavily on the back foot the whole way. Only TRSM GC I've played. Serk must have had 2x Gerry CC5-TRSM GCs, tough going.
